You can definitely go by june since this release info comes directly from Nokia.

Does anyone know when Nokia plans on a releasing this phone in North America, or what the unlocked price will be? What about a carrier in the US? It would be nice if Tmob or AT&T picked this bad boy up... :/

I see it just got the Fcc approval. It can't take that long now. Is not for north america though. On the other hand you can import one after it becomes available in Europe. (that is - if you want one so badly)

Just seen a couple of nice features built in according to the preliminary manual.
Finally USB charging!
& also timed profiles (similar to handy profiles though not as thorough i presume).

The X1 came, and it went, and no one even noticed, no one even cared. Stop comparing N97 to it.

Been watching a couple of new videos of the N97 from CTIA & i'm really starting to get the bug for this now.
The interface seems smooth & the transitions quick. Browser looks very good, responsive screen + kinitec scrolling looks like it will make for a great experience.
So far this is ticking all my boxes, large onboard memory (+ expandable), large screen etc etc. I'm even liking the idea of the physical qwerty more & more.
I know technically the Omnia HD is probably more gifted (larger capacitive OLED screen, HD recording & playback, 8mpx camera, more video codecs supported etc) but I think the support offered by nokia & the ease of sync with my MAC has more or less won me over.

That's pretty much exactly why I think I'm going to get one when it finally drops too! That is, unless Apple announces something really cool this June, and finally manages to include everything I've been wanting hardware wise with the this hardware refresh of the iPhone. As well as including all of the stuff I feel the phone's been missing since it's introduction with the release of 3.0, I might finally be moved to get a iPhone...

lol, yeah... right... no one noticed?
anyway, having spent a couple of months or so with X1... the main reason I dumped it was because, after the iphone, I realised I don't need a physical keyboard anymore
I should perhaps have learned that from having had the HTC diamond before but it took the X1 to make me truly realise
now, having had the Nokia 5800, I am sure I don't want the N97 as I feel it won't give me enough reason to have the keyboard and hence the extra bulk... I shall wait for Nokia's 5800 non physical keyboard follow up...

Aren't you tempted by the Sammy? Looking at just hardware I think it will take Nokia a while to produce something this powerfull. Or even the leaked s8000.
