Is it just me or have SE removed the feature that allows the contact picture to be displayed automatically when a txt is recieved. I cant seem to find where to enable this on my Hazel. I have set all my contacts up with their respective pics but when I recieve txts from them, their display pics do not show but instead the alert is shown as a 'new event' with the name of contact only. Has anyone else noticed this?

Instead of "New Event", I think you have to choose "Pop-up"

The new a200 revamp does not have pop up I used to love it when a photo of the person sending a text used to pop up

@Bonovox
Have a look at the Yendo. That will be the first SE phone to have the new UX interface. Also. The new X10 mini's have the new UX interface which is running over Android. Yendo doesn't have Android.

You put that many in the phone memory ??? I'm not suprised what happened. The phone hasn't got enough ram to load all of them from the internal memory. From a memory card is a different matter as the phone loads a certain amount at a time.

Edit

Just checked and the Elm's internal memory is only 240mb. Just an example. I've got 635 photos/pictures loaded on my memory card along with over 4000 music tracks. The pictures alone come to just over 410mb so its not suprising your phone behaved as it did.

Oh! Anyway, the pictures are placed on the memory card. I've removed the pictures somewhere else (external hard disk drive), and the problem is solved.

I remembered my G502 running flawless with 730+ music tracks and 200+ pictures and 20 videos (I was watching a TV drama series back then) while running two to three Java applications at the same time. Though I can compare the difference. DB2010/2020 phones are a lot faster (K550i/W610i being the fastest) than A2 phones.

@Rookwise thanks! the album arts really shows up. and it's large! just what I need! wishing that the Yendo also has large album art. however, i really can't see the manual eq. bummer!

I've been monitoring my Elm's connectivity for the past few weeks. My usual setting is 3G/GSM, letting the phone connect automatically to whichever signal is better. On my route to work there are 2 spots which have zero to near zero signal level for either 3g or GSM & have noticed that it takes the Elm much longer to reconnect to the home network than my W995 (even after I've crossed over to an area with a much stronger signal).

This is probably something that a firmware update can fix but it's one possible reason why some people are reporting poor connectivity. The delay in regaining a signal can range to anywhere from a minute to 5 minutes (note that this is in a moving vehicle).

It looks like its a SIM problem. Swapped it to my w995 and that phone also started losing the signal but less frequently.

@Bonovox

Bummer. Why on earth would SE remove the 'pop up' feature? This was a clear and convenient notifier as to who was calling or texting? Why SE? why!?
