i don't know what i's difference between those ?
layer 1 0.0, infinity can lock AE by haft press
layer 1 +0.3 EV compensation, we can lock AE too

1. AE is locked only while the camera key is half down
2. AE is locked all the time even after taken shot. It never unlocks itself, you locked and you must unlock

Can i make a suggestion for the driver?

In the first layer of functionality, manual saturation (-0.3) has values that start with maximum saturation and decrease in saturation as you increase the value with '+' key. Personally, I like this setup because if people want to change saturation, they will (more often than not) want to increase saturation, so having values that start from maximum makes sense, saves time and energy

I was wondering if the same principle could be applied to manual focus: to have values starting at Macro all the way to Infinity focus.

What it is now:
Minimum value: Infinity
Maximum value: Macro

======================================================

My suggestion for driver:

Minimum value of focus: Macro focus
Maximum value of focus: Infinity

=====================================================

My thoughts why this method would be better:

Most of the time i use manual focus i want macro focus - in macro focus you can see clearly whether object is in focus or not, so you can tell exactly how the picture will look before you take it, you can still do this with focus infinity by half-pressing shutter, but it takes more time.

Also, i think its hard to be accurate with '+' key to get infinity focus, you might go past infinity focus into semi-macro focus without being able to tell as your object is so far away so you cant tell if its out of focus without doing preview (which takes time if in hurry) However, if infinity focus was the maximum possible value of focus function then you can just hold ‘+’ key to maximum value and be guaranteed to not go into macro focus or have out of focus shot due to inaccuracy of zoom bar.

These are just my opinions so mean nothing, the driver is more than amazing how it is already! looking forward to future versions

@raiderski
it seems that i've been restricted to download files from mediafire.com (i'm staying at hostel, using the campus internet connection)

if you permit, maybe mriley or others can help testing the fix camdriver for the videocall bug.. (no zoom function, but manual focus instead)

Yes, I won't tell what's new but as you can see change is from .0 to .2 which means quite important. Not big, important.

Sure, can you post them a link on PM? I just want to know is it fixed or not

mriley
1 = infinity must stay but I don't see any problems to change:

..., 2 = far, ..., 60 = macro

to:

..., 2 = macro, ..., 60 = far

anyone?

Update: new version is now bug free in terms of video calling- zoom function working perfectly, no MF instead of zoom anymore
