TransferJet is included in CyberShot cameras and MemorySticks sins last year... and this picture is from distant 2008 when Sony introduced technology development.

I prefer not having an microSD slot. No need for the slot to take up space, just hard-wire the memory directly to the motherboard, so there's a few cubic mm extra design space. As long as there is enough included of course. I need SE to match or better my 32GB card.

I might be wrong as I've not done the research, but I doubt very many people carry a spare memory card to swap out. In fact, I bet most people aren't 100% sure how to remove the card from their phone at all, present (minority) company excluded obviously.

@Ricky D

It's not really as much about swapping than about extendable memory. 32GB may not be enough for many people, certainly isn't enough for me

I would agree with this, but one issue I have is that if the phone breaks/gets dropped in water etc. with a memory card photos and data can still be recovered but if not, then when a phone breaks everything gets lost with it, as it is much harder to recover (taking out the hard drive which I presume would be soldered right down on a motherboard)

But yeah otherwise not having one is simpler as you don't have to worry about moving apps to the SD card and it doesn't get complicated having one thing on the internal and something else on the external memory.

Also they might try to push cloud storage as well (which I am not really for atm)

Lol should have known that the non-removable battery and lack of SD-slot was Sonys idea. I dont really care about the battery but no SD-card slot is a big fail, specially since all the other phones has it (except nexus).

Anyway there has been some rumours about dedicated Sony sound chips in the new phones. That would be awesome. That would also explain the walkman picture

WoW! Where did you read about dedicated Sony sound chips used in the new phones? If true then its great news

Considering the Sony Walkman Z is currently only announced & available for Japanese regions, I'm guessing the announcement they are hinting at is a worldwide release.

But here is something interesting from Sony Ericsson's official FB page

"This week’s prize will do wonders with your TV… what do you think it could be - smartphone, laptop, tablet?"

Interesting.

Also, I really do hope the latest SE's come with Sony sound technology, that would make a perfect phone for me, and something I've been waiting for for a very long time.
