Nice shots guys. @winnerzero,how did you get the minature effect?? Is that on the Z1 I have not noticed??

theres a focal blur function with the pixlr express app that come with the phone. You can add tilt shift effects that way. There is also many color balance option for the app, cranking up the vibrancy will make your photo looks like lumia photo

ok. here are some comparisons with new and old firmware of a landscape shot. unfortunately i got impatient and couldn't wait til i could take more photos to have comparison photos in many conditions.. haha.. oh well. Clearly not ideal conditions as the sun is in a bad spot for photos.. I didn't notice a huge difference but the new firmware certainly does produce slightly more detail which is noticeable in the trees/leaves in the foreground..

For each mode, old firmware is top, new firmware is bottom:

Superior Auto

8mp Manual

20mp Manual

Cannot tell to be honest there's too much trees and dark aswell. Need different images. Superior Auto comes out brighter

too late to go back now. but i can take the same shots tomorrow at a better time of day..

camera is indeed faster than before, which is nice.

i did.. but i didn't post them cause i didn't try the same shots with the old firmware.. i was in a rush since i just stepped out for a quick work break.. sigh.

oh well. i'm happy with the results and hope they continue to improve.

now if i can just figure out a way to keep my lens from getting smudged

I know it doesnt look it, but this image was taken at night when it was MUCH darker than it seems in the pic...im very impressed by the low light capabilities of z1...amazing for a phone...usually I have my nex6 with me but this time my phone had to suffice...
@bonovox, are u enjoying using the miniature tilt shift mode?!?... fun isnt it...
