^that's only for the netherlands, right?

btw - does anybody know if the body/frame of the XZP is metal this time? THe XZ's frame is painted plastic which is the only real disappointing thing about it. Would be nice if the PREMIUM model has a metal body.

Galaxy S8 to shoot super slow mo videos too

Sounds like a modified version of the current sensor found in the GS7 range rather than the IMX400.

Could also be completely false too.

It's a full metal frame I'm sure, I think the weight of the device kind of confirms it.

THIS! If this is true, this is where SONY is falling short. Many times over the past few years they have announced something good but failed to deliver it before then competition. I really hope SONY gets this phone out before the S8.

IMX400 is a Sony's exclusive obviusly...like was the IMX300 2 years ago. Samsung wanted the 300 on his galaxy S7, but Sony didn't give it .

Well, it is a matter of time when Samsung will start producing better sensors then Sony... They just have so much more money to spend on R&D.

They have equally good sensor as of now anyway, but they just don't have capacity to make enough so they rely on Sony.

Sony sensors in the previous generations of Galaxy phones were not better then those made by Samsung, I remember the comparisons between the two, and if they make it possible for S8 to shoot 1000fps without Sony sensor, that means they do not lag behind Sony in sensor capabilities, they could even be one step ahead.

go away nodar.. stop polluting this thread

as for the S8 "news" whether it is true or not who knows. Samsung has the means and money to develop something similar to sony for sure. They are top dogs when it comes to making flash memory and the like, so adding some DRAM to buffer their sensor is not out of their realm of capability. For now, it's still just a rumor (afaik), so we'll see in a week or so whether it is true. if it is, then Sony will have one of their biggest selling points essentially nullified and with all the articles out there basically telling everyone that 4K is useless on mobile phones, their 2nd biggest selling point isn't getting much love either.

Either way I'll be getting the XZP.
