I had the same problem and according to this post (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=19331&forum=17) the problem lies in a WinXP-Patch called Q328310.
After uninstalling the patch, I tried to reinstall the SE-software and it worked fine...
good luck

OK, I have a problem. I have MPM (R4A package5) and sendfile,XP and a t68i. When I start up sendfile and hit no on my T68i to wake it up sendfile finds my phone and lets me select file. Then when I hit send file it say's sending file, file sent, disconnect. Really quick but the file has not been sent!!!!!!
I have the com ports synchronised in "MPM" but the same happens everytime. I read somewhere that you can only go up to com port 4 or "MPM" doesnt recognize it but I cant go any lower than 6 cause I am using a self powered usb hub.
I think this could be the problem but I dont have a clue how to get it into a lower numbered com port(1,2,3 or 4) I am not using any serial connectors at all on my p.c. So the first usb hub should be recognized as 1 right?
please help me I am bored with the basic T68 backgrounds!!!

Help!
When I install the SW, it completes with a message to restart and then complete install after restart. When I try to run install again after restart, it says the same thing?
I seem to have it installed, but nowhere can I find the menu to set the COM port to the same as my bluetooth serial port. Therefore I can't use it!
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong please?

Go to your control panel administrative tools>computer management. select device manager>ports. you'll find a list of ports available in your computer, and the com ports that bluetooth was configured to use.

GOwin, thanks for that. However, it's not the Bluetooth COM port that I need to know or change.
I know the BT comport, it's available from BTmanager.
The XTNDc com port is set by a routine that is normally accessible from the control panel, however, because the XTND installation is going in circles (restart to complete instal, you restart, run setup, and then it says the same thing!) it never seems to install that routine in the control panel!!
This is most infuriating!

Hi everyone, I've gone through as much of the discussion forum to look for a solution to my problem. I was able to install Package 1 without much problems and sync Outlook with my T68i at home (Win XP) using a Belkin BlueTooth USB adapter.
However when at work (W2K) I am unable to install the softare package. It just hangs at the very first stage ...'Processing Mobile Monitor files...' and does not seem to go anywhere beyond that. I must have installed/deleted and retried everything almost 10 times, but no use. Would anyone have any suggestions. I want to be able to sync my phone with both PCs (work & home) so that all my contacts and calender items are synced on all three devices.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks,
Jawad

Can someone point me to a user guide for FMA? Particularly one that deals with how to configure it for sync over BT. When I put my BT dongle's MAC in the Options dialog and try to Connect I get:
Error 10047 in function Connect (socket) Address family nof supported by protocol family
I'm trying FMA since I've had no luck with MPM, and I thought this was supposed to be that easy option!
(WinXP SP1 and DLink DBT-120 dongle connecting to a T68i R7A013)

I know there are many folks struggling with getting MPM and Bluetooth to work. I was one of them until I found a utility in the Ericsson install directory call 'setdbgout.exe', this creates (and shows) a log of what MPM is doing and what is failing. My problem was that one of the AT+ commands being sent to the phone to establish the connection was failing. Taking the battery and SIM out of the phone, leaving it for a minute or so before putting back together and powering up fixed it.
Also, I noticed that the R4APackage's from Ericsson and Package1_1_5_1/ImageEditor/etc from SonyEricsson actually have different versions of MPM. The Ericsson packages ship 1,0,0,583 and SonyEricsson 1,0,0,655 (looking at the Advanced tab in MPM). I had more luck with the later version, but have clean installed the older version and have that working now.
