Why don't you name them then? You aren't being very 'straight to the point' if you don't!
Personally l think you quite uncouth. You should offer support for a point you make.

i remember the good ole days...when Motorola phones commanded respect.

when Panasonic were high end handsets.

when your battery lasted 5 hours on standby if it was a good phone.

when you bought a top of the range handset and every tom dick n harry never had it already.

when you could spend £800 to get an exclusive handset offline before official release.

when no one got an upgrade, your mobile lasted 2 - 3 years without anything going wrong.

when sms didnt exist...yet alone international roaming.

when i wasnt happy to see you i was carrying my mobile phone.

ahh, the good ole days...what went wrong? ...all these young uns getting access to mobile technology is what happened....tech is cheap these days and you cant stop people from talking shite as much as you try....with large numbers comes lots of fools and more bs than i care to deal with...this place is still cool if you hang in the right areas, you got to find a connection with a few like minded individuals, try the UK section, its open to outsiders too...a bit like our borders

for the most part, i dont chat here often because i'm currently having an affair with my xbox and also soon to be upgrading to a Nokia 6230 ...but also because i dont spend the same amounts of time online....but its still a great place to find info on mobiles....like a few days ago when my brother dropped his T630 down the toilet, i had to read MiXiN's instructions on how to open it so i could fully dry it out...priceless information when needed never let me down.

anyway "The Suffering" is calling on xbox....so gone again....long live esato.

@decoy7
Those days are gone forever, although you could partly relive them if you bought a 3G handset

scotsboy,

they sure are mate....and they're not entirely missed either.

had a 3G handset on free trial for over 6 months, it wasnt quite the nostalgia i was looking for...i dont want to relive the poor battery performance and terrible reception...although i've heard they've somewhat improved a great deal in the past 6 months....dont worry about yesterday, what's happening tomorrow?

How is an old timer classed? Do you have to have over 500 posts & joined in BC (before christ) or doesn't the number of posts matter?

I think you are an old timer

I have a 3G handset at the moment, an NEC e616, with 3 in the UK. I have to say that I don't find it all that bad, certainly not to the degree that some people have been making out. For the most part there is a reasonably good signal in whilst one is in the city and along the motorways. I have had calls drop a few times, but not so frequently that it is a major problem.
The battery life of 3G handsets is the biggest problem they have at the moment. The heavy duty battery supplied with the NEC e616 will last for around two days with light usage or around one day with normal usage. This isn't too much of a problem as I charge the phone each night, but if one had to use the phone for extended periods and was out and about then I can see there being a problem.
The newer handsets, apart from the NEC e616, tend to have better battery life than this though. The great deal 3 were offering persuaded me to join, but I would advise anyone who is thinking of switching to 3, if you can, to wait until they release handsets with improved battery life.

P.S. Owning a 3G handset just now is like owning one of the first GSM mobiles in a way; few have them and even fewer have any real need for them

There's a great thing here at esato. There seems to be this rule that people who have just joined are able to send people PMs and abuse them, probably out of boredom.
Only last night i was told i need to seek help because of a thread i started, and i've been informed on other occasions that im gay for owning a pink phone.

Amazes me how loads of people on esato who i dont know can tell me how to live me life!

The thing i enjoy however, is the fact that this has gone on for a long time, and is one of those good things about esato

I actually suspect those are a small group of mostly the same ppl, signing up again and again specifically to abuse other ppl.

On recent occassions I've been sent PM's by ppl who only joined that day to inform me that I was a dog that had found human form, a whore, a pig, a f***ing idiot, I own an ugly fat phone so by default I must look the same and (much) more like that.

It seems there is no way to arm oneself against that as banning one members does not actually prevent a 'new' one to sign up and one gets tired of having to PM a mod every time

How this is a good thing on esato is beyond me though I'd say this is one facility that may well drive ppl away.

tiresome as it maybe, please be sure to PM a mod every time you receive such PMs as you may be preventing other members from receiving similar abuse if the mods can act fast. thanks!
