The clubsonyericsson.com website says that it rotates 360° degrees, I think thats not true and it rotates only in one direction (180°)
except the color i like the japanese version more. European customers like the models more simple, but the buttons from the S700 are a bit to simple i think.

"The release date is expected to be Q4 2004 and the price won't be less than 450€" From Clubsonyericsson So that means no more than 553.262 USD.

How did "price won't be less than" turn into "no more than"?
The price on this phone is pure speculation at the moment. I doubt even

know what they are going to price it at.

the comparing photos on clubsonyericsson show us that the S700 is not THAT big. Its +- as long as the T610, just a bit thicker. But so is the Z600.
T*** = CandyBar
S*** = Smartphone?
Z*** = Clamshell
K*** = ??? Whats with the K? I think the K700 will be more expansive then other SonyEricssons (T610,T630,Z600) where.
S*** can't be Smartphone.. those are the P***
and those are still the most expensive too

what

told me is that the new series mean this:
Kxxx: true dual front phones (so presumably many new K phones are being prepared)
Sxxx: advanced camera features (multimegapixel)

i say it rotates 360º degrees because i've used it and it rotates 360º. in comparison with motorola models, sony ericsson has made this possible in order to make it comfortable for the left-handed as well as the right-handed.

Dear 701, Knut G (you guys should get married or something)
701, you claim you work in this area, know what you do, what you're talking about etc. Well, I seriously hope they're not paying you much... because you do lack some very basic knowledge obviously: e.g. your enlightened statement about end users ending up paying 3 times more with EDGE than GPRS, needing a separate subscription, etc -surely you have some other thoughts like this you'd like to share with us. To make a simple comparison, you sound like a cook at McDonald's (or Pizza Hut) who claims knowing everything about the whats and hows of the food served in La Tour d'Argent...
Also, check your "reliable" sources rather than gossips. Because EDGE *is* rolled out and activated in Romania... But you might still want to object. Be my guest. Being stubborn is a quality -up to a certain point...
I dont believe EDGE will be the leading technology, nor do I believe WCDMA will be the leading one or CDMA2k. GSM undeniably is the leading one already, serving more than a billion people. But EDGE (EGPRS part) is happening in many countries (GSMA lists only *public* info. Real numbers *are* different) around the world and is a reality in many of them also as a complement to WCDMA or as an alternative to it, and it's going to increase. The main markets are US and Asia, and this likely is the reason why

has released only a US version (why not for Asia though?), but they will catch the train eventually. Phones are on a mass market already, networks are ready (and here to challenge what Arun -you should obviously know whom I'm talking about...- was saying a week ago: EDGE phones have been ready *prior* to networks), so all the elements are in place for making EDGE a success. YOu might say: what about services then? Well, even services are available that will benefit from EDGE. RT streaming (Which has been possible with Nokia GPRS phones since 3650 for instance, and that no

phones provide -not even the ones announced yesterday), will benefit a lot from EDGE. Sending 2.5 times faster an email, a picture etc as a background task in your phone might not be so obvious to the user, but browsing the web much faster than with GPRS is something you do notice. Also having a higher quality video stream is something you notice, and cant really argue about.
Well anyway...
Maybe I'm not credible to you and I simply don't care. (shortsighted comments like "EDGE is going to be obsolete when 3G goes into effect" are certainly more credible...) But I simply don't like people who insult others "for free", whilst thinking that shouting louder than others make them be more convincing...

@SuperG: I didn't want to start a flame-war here and his will be my last comment about EDGE as I have made my point in the previous post where i gave u and every1 else the links proving i am right and u r wrong. That's all.I just replied to ur wrong posts.
Then Knut G is right and i still claim that
For ur information (like my last post) , EDGE is NOT active in Romania. Mobifon(Connex) and Cosmorom (2 companies) are not interested in developing EDGE , while Mobilrom (Orange) announced they would roll out the EDGE tech this year but took no further steps in even contacting potential tech providers. I know this, as my previous statement. Then i live here in Romania, while u r someplace else...enough about it.
Something else: comments u read somewhere over the internet about the future of mobile comunications don't count as much as the reality i provided by links. If u want, u can also check the romanian gsm companies' sites and u'll find out for urself what i am claiming here.
Facts count not the gossips or hearsay u post here
I also read the articles Flyin' posted but a guy here reply before i had the chance making the most objective point. No need for me to reffer to that again.
