@timbo - a jar file contains all the classes and various resources(pics,extra files etc) required by a java application or game to run. Its basically like a zip file.

@rubix - Welcome to Esato
1) That contact bug is quite an annoying problem that most people face. Try deleting that contact and re-entering it back into the phonebook. Ensure that you have the latest firmware - R2AE . (Read the Esato FAQ on how to check the firmware version)

Is your phone on a contract ? If you can't get your sevice provider to send you the correct internet settings, try the sony ericsson site which should have your service providers internet and mms settings (they also have email if you wish to use that)

I have some questions that I have been wondering about considering my k700i phone. I hope you could at least answer them with a yes/no

1. Is it true that the k700i has a limitation of SMS-storage on phone memory (not SIM)? After like 20 SMS it tells me to clean up my SMS, while I still have like 20MB of free space! I want to be able to save hundreds of sms like my friends with Samsung phones...

2. Just to check up: there is no way to fast forward and rewind videos while watching them on the phone?

3. Are there any firmwares that allow you to customize the sms ringtone?

4. Is there a java applet available for the phone, making it an IR remote for TV?

K700 has a separate sms memory with a max of 100 sms,both your inbox as well as sent items count. Clear them if necessary if you still cant store at least 70 or so (thats my k700's sms capacity) take it to the SE service center and explain the problem to them

No , you can only fast forward and rewind audio

Until now, no but u can use setool from www.setool.net to change the sms alert tone but it will cost u

Not possible since k700 has restricted access to IR thru Java

Hope that helped

Thanks man, you're the greatest! Feels good to know what I can/cannot do with my mobile. I will probably follow your advice when it comes to sms, because I can save a way below 100 of sms!

In the Media player, when playing a movie/sound, press "1" and the time counter will show time left to finish, press "2" to go back to normal time counter.
