may i ask which SE center you went to for the upgrade? btw are you from manila? my K700i also has chinese characters on the keypads but instead of Hong Kong I have Taiwan. so far the SE centers I've contacted in manila doesn't accept K700i with chinese characters on the keypads for upgrade. according to them sony ericsson phils doesn't support K700i purchased outside of the authorized dealers. in manila only SE authorized dealers and service centers can do upgrade on SE phones (i think...).

They're in Glorietta 3 now, not the old Herrera addy. Check with them about your k700... is it a k700c?

Upgraded my phone to R2L001 in Singapore.

When i select the applications folder from File Manager, and if the folder is empty, the message shown is "No games in folder"

Guess it's a non-significant issue, but hope its fixed in the next FW upgrade.

Noted that in power save mode, when the screen is switched off, pressing either of the volume control buttons displays the time for 3-4 seconds. Not sure if this was present in R2A

This is NOT present in R2A. I'll add it to my next update of the K700 Firmware Overview thread:

Is there any service whereby SE can inform its customers of firmware upgrades thru email? Or do they put it anywhere on their website?

Why don't they consider online FW upgrades for the K700i? I presume they do it for some other phones.

@Marcus_129

Just called SE today and the latewt version available in Sweden is R2L.

engstroms in nacka, stockholm(www.engstromtele.com) is where you can get it done in Stockholm. free if under warranty but it takes 5 days otherwise it costs 250kr to have it done in 3 hours.

Hope that this helps

There is. Its down for the moment (a few have already tried it), but will be up again "soon" as they say at SE.

do you have the contact numbers of the sony ericsson shop in glorietta? i checked the firmware of my unit and it says K700i and not K700c. i was informed that if your phone is K700c it should be stated in the box and on the phone itself. i don't see K700c anywhere. My unit is K700i but has the taiwan language pack that's why it has chinese characters on the keypads. but it's still K700i and not K700c.

I just upgraded my software to R2L001 Today. Most of the bugs are now gone. Haven't found any problem yet!
