Hey floss. Sorry to hear about the rope stuff. I thought that might be tricky to incorporate.
Any other advances recently though? I don't mean to nag - you've worked quite hard on it recently - I mainly just wanted to bump this thread, since it took me a while to find it!

Hi Tom,
Again not wanting to bug you since you DEFINITELY deserve a wee break, but a while ago 'dark side' tactics like tunneling and bridging were mentioned. I know that I loved this aspect to Worms (oh and for the record I hate it when people bring that up, since THIS is YOUR game not Team 17 bringing Worms over the the PX00 but still I liked that part)
Also I was wandering about the ability to play via BlueTooth and possibly even over GPRS?
How cool would that be playing Soldier Ants against a live person in an other part of the world! Sorry dreaming now. Hmm Just a thought, if GPRS were possible, would you be able to get SA bundled with PX00s? I know that Mobile Operators love things that get people to use their services and internet gaming would definitely count.
Anyway thanks a million for this coolest of games. Thanks even more for listening to its users...
Ben

It was really fun to do, just rather tricky. Now that I have rope working, I don't actually like it. There is no ceiling in Soldier Ants so most of the time there is nothing sensible to attach the rope to!

Not much to report. I have made a few changes to allow me to produce a review copy and tidied up the code a little, but that won't really affect anyone. I'm thinking about adding in air strikes, possibly adding a training mode and fixing a couple of untidy things with the interface.

These may also go in. Is it correct that in Worms you can place a girder anywhere you like? It should be fairly easy to add.

It may happen but not for a while at least.
> SA bundled with PX00s
I'd be up for that, but I don't think it is likely that I will be approached by SE to do this. It's probably the only way to earn sensible money from games on the Px00s.
I'm starting to slow down the work I'm doing on Soldier Ants and do some more work on Flight, so the updates won't be coming nearly as fast as they have been. I'll try to get some new toys into the game this week though.
Cheers,
Tom

Yes you could put them where you wanted.
Can't wait to see flight.

You may have to. I have decided to make the game much, much bigger than I had originally intended. So it needs a few more months work.
But thats for another thread...

What thread is that?
Out of interest (and concern) can you explain the controls for Flight?
From the shot on your page it LOOKS like a 3d flight sim? All the 3d 1st person games on the P800 I've found have been VERY awkward to control. I.E. the race game steer with the wheel (which was fine) but then having to accellerate by pressing the screen. Or a 1st person shooter you had to click on small buttons at the bottom of the screen and tap the visual area to shoot (but only at the cross hairs NOT where you clicked)
I'm sure you'll do the right thing, but I'd love to know your ideas.
