Im on o2 online 200 and and i have been for just over a year.

I was told I could upgrade instore so i shot down to my local o2 and asked for an upgrade to a K750i on my online 200 contract.

She brought up my details and then said yes thats fine but theres a £100 upgrade charge?

On the O2 website it said it is free on the £30 a month contracts which is what mine is so I dont understand where the £100 came from?

Any thoughts?

I had the same told to me, £100 upgrade charge, although I am suprised they told you you had to pay as you are on the online 200.

Does seem to be going against the tv ads about valuing customers...

If my girlfriend wasnt with o2 I would most probably go elsewhere (except t-mobile who I had terrible service from following a late payment on a bill.)
Orange seem good. With so many x-net free calls from all networks they should know that most people will change without it costing them that much.

Hey Guys

First post! Had the same disappointing news regarding the O2 online upgrade, wait a couple of weeks etc! Not very pleased. But after reading these posts have been wondering if I can really just go into a O2 shop and ask if I can upgrade my online 200 mins deal there and then. Is this the case?

Also think I'm gonna give the "phone and say your gonna cancel" a go, might just go through with it too, cos I can get the student deal on Orange, and if i'm gonna wait a few weeks may as well get it on Orange.

Good luck to everyone on getting one and hope o2 pick their game up!

When I enquired about upgrading my O2 contract in store, O2 online told me that it was up to the descresion of store - thankfully O2 Southampton were very helpful. I thought i was going to have to pay £100 for the upgrade, but again, the guy said that i could have it at the upgrade price of £49.99 - bonus!

Picked it up Sat afternoon - and i can tell you, the only phone being sold in that store were the K750i's - so many people were taking out/upgrading their contracts - i saw numerous SE boxes coming out of the back-office!

When I was talking to O2 Online today, the lady told me that you can upgrade from a high street o2 store. They will charge you, but if you send the recipt off to o2 online they will refund you the difference of what they would charge you.
i.e. If o2 Online were to charge you £49.99 for the upgrade, but the highstreet charges £99.99, then you can send the recipt to o2 Online and get a £50 refund.

Im on Talk 200, and if I got the chance to buy it for £49.99, I would- but they are sure to charge more for me. Also, I dont think and Nothern Ireland stores have them at the moment- somone from esato was saying that.

Im going to phone up tomorrow and pretend to cancel my contract if they dont upgrade me. Ill let you all know how I get on.
