@londonlad123:
I can do the same thing on my P990i. I just hold down the hash-key on the flip!
You removed your flip, didn't you? Then you're missing the same keypad that you have on your K800i.

exactly... without profiles... and without the flip... grrrr... so frustating..

when the flip is removed.. it should have the music note in the corner like in silent and you can toggle there.. OR assign more multiple fucntions to the keyboard.. since 95% of the keys don't have a command in the standby screen...lol you can't even dial ...

The biggest problem IMO is that the best we can do is speculate. I know that it doesn't make any sense for SE to admit to any of the P990's shortcomings but I'd like to at least know what exactly they're working on, and when we can expect it. An official statement from time to time would be nice.

Anybody else notice how people rant the P990i cant do something then somebody tells them how to do it? maybe if people read the manual once or twice they may not be so angry?

It's only a phone chaps so yes show your displeasure at it's failings but growe up and stop throwing a tantrum because it fails to do something exactly as you expect but does the function a slightly different way.

Exactly Guy H, some people's frustration is quite questionable. Also people who don't actually own P990 can be (based on what they read here) under impression that the phone is useless, crap, non functional etc which is so far from true. I use it heavy every day for work and fun and it's amazing little device. I wait new fws not to go from crap to at least useful device but to use it to it's fullest potential which is enormous IMO.

you got to agree; due all the software failures it's not realy a phone i'd recommend someone at this stage.
i'll have to switchoff phone or remove battery atlease 3 times a day due system freeze
i've not other software installed, so that could not be the cause

Apart from the fact that your phone probably needs to be reflashed, because it's quite abnormal having crashes everyday! I have a P990i and I never get crashes (as many other users) with current firmware.
Many users solved their problem just re-flashing their phone!

Anyway, when the phone freezes (happened once to me in 3 and a half months) it's enough keeping the power switch pushed for more than 10 seconds, and the phone reboots without having to extract the battery!
