Yes! It's simply awesome... not much more you could ask for from an arcady driving game. The special abilities are a wicked touch too! I've heard it's only downside is that it gets too hard later on in the game
As for fifa09 or evo... i've only played the evo demo so can only speak for that, but i've been told the full game is much more polished than the demo. Will give the fifa demo a punt though. Cant see me buying either tbh what with GOW2 and COD5 on the horizon, and Midnight Club to keep me entertained

Not too hard in my opinion. Just very challenging, which to me is somewhat refreshing. It means you might have to do a single race several times to learn the route, and then do a perfect lap or two, but it's so rewarding when you do it! I swear this game has me addicted!
I love the EMP special ability which is a new addition for this game. Probably the most useful ability for me.

Yeah i'm thinking the reviewer who wrote that is just a poo gamer

I'm loving the fact it's getting a bit harder, more challenging. Now i've just kitted my muscle car up the races are getting a bit more intense and traffic weaving like burnout - but better! I'm not looking forward to having to bet your car in a race - my mate has lost two of his most kitted up cars..GONE
May have a nosey in zavvi tomo then see what they've got...prob nothing decent knowing them!

Yeah I lost 3 of my cars doing that! I was so infuriated I felt like chucking my controller through the window! But what I did was I went and bought another one of my first cars, the '83 VW Golf (the cheapest in the game) and kitted it out fully for free (having already bought the upgrades) and then took him on four times and won all my cars back, plus his car. The route is always the same, and it's easy to learn. I could beat him every time now by a good 20-30 seconds.
However, my game screwed up because of a bug and instead of winning my original Golf back (the first one), the game gave me back a clone of my muscle car (maybe cause I bought another Golf? I dunno). So I had two muscle cars exactly the same! So I then sold one and was happy cause it was worth more so I made money out of the bug.

Cheers for the tip about buying your old car back and being able to kit it out for free. I'm sure i'm gonna lose a couple of cars to him before i manage to perfect the route!
Gagging to play it again now - havent had a proper session on it since the weekend, and tonight and tomo is my time as my flatmate is working lates

Is it the pink slips race near the beach? If so it's always the route named 'Old Route 66'. You can go into arcade mode and practise it first then you'll be a pro. There might be differences in the positioning of the checkpoints when you go and do it for real, but it's the same route, with longer spaces between checkpoints. The longer spacing means there's a few shortcuts you can take too.
By the way, it's easier to do it in a slower car. If you upgrade your car, your opponent upgrades to match it, no matter what you drive. Slower cars are easier to control and therefore easier to win in. Good luck!
