May be not the right topic, but does someone knows ig Sony is really looking to fiz the distortion issue?
I read rumors, but this was ...well.. rumor. And since its a long time ago I would like to know if we still can hope for something...

Not sure... but I had post this link on SONY MOBILE facebook's page and the admin of that page remove the link !

I have to say that the customer service of SONY MOBILE is extremely bad ! They try to hide the truth and not trustworthy company anymore !

Sony customer service probably consists of a single technician most likely on work experience with a budget of £5 so getting a response will take time. Obviously its a big deal to fix it so if it comes it will be in a larger, more complete update, I don't imagine they would have the team push out a dedicated update for the camera like they do for the flipping What's New app. I still don't have themes working on the dialer, its the same ugly blue and white with the same lag. I feel like that won't change until I buy another flagship.

16:9 screen .. 👍🤘✌️👏

Translating the article :

" The next year Xperia flagship model of the 2018 version to be released at MWC in February next year.
For this model it is said that it will become an alias model of Xperia XZ 1 Premium "equivalent", and full model change is being stated the other day. However, it seems that the degree of actual design change is not as big as I thought.
ePrice told Sony mobile Taiwanese representative, Mr. Hashihisa far away.
Since it is interpretation via Google translation, subtle nuances etc. may be wrong, so do not be afraid.
On that basis, Sony mobile headquarters will not install an 18: 9 display in future Xperia, and will continue to display the current 16: 9 aspect ratio display over the full size display And that.
Also, it is no comment about Bezerless's information.
I was convinced that almost Bezerless = Full Screen = 18: 9 Aspect Ratio from the information of the other day, but this is apparently a selfish misunderstanding.
Certainly in the interview article of the other day Sony just said that it is "conscious" about the recent trend of smartphone 18: 9 display and bezelless design, it is not saying a word to adopt .
Therefore, in conjunction with this information, the next Xperia is accompanied by renewal of design, the bezel will become thin to some extent, but the possibility of 18: 9 display or full screen specification is almost zero.
By the way, the other day, about the next Xperia rumors that the upper and lower bezels become thin but about 0.8 - 1 cm have emerged, but maybe there is no possibility that they pointed to the information this time."

I have no idea how faithful ePrice is...

On anothet day, there was a comment on GSMArena and someone said same about bezel size, between 0.8 -1 cm.
The bezel.of LG G6 has 7mm.
The current phones must have about 1.5 or 1.7 cm.

This article or a link to something says or translates to one of either left or right side will be bezel-less hinting at something similar to the Galaxy Edge Note so I believe this is being misinterpreted. It also explains it could be because of the side mounted FPS which makes me think this is waffle.

I am pretty sure it will have top and bottom bezel for stereo speakers but not ridiculously sized like the XA1. I believe the high end devices will retain side FPS, mid-rangers are likely to get FPS but not necessarily on the side.

Those wanting the Y design, it would look like the Z5 which is a step back actually. I can't really imagine what a whole new design will look like unless they mean a small bezel screen because their hands are tied regarding the internals they use.

Article shows a concept of next flagship.
Do you guys believe this concept is close to what we may see next year?

If it looks anything like that, SONY will immediately have my money. And, I mean, right away! Now, knowing SONY, it might be too hopeful to be anything like that..... Who knows, here I'm hoping to be proven wrong.

Would preferred 16:9 with slim bezel design anyday.

Japan Display (JOLED) will be ready for mass production in 2019

reportedly needed to raise money for 100 billions yen ($887M) to keep operation on going

5-10 billions each from Sony, Canon, Nikon, Sumitomo and others may include foreign investment aka Chinese.

Thats no surprise at all guys...

look how much money Apple has for R&D !! Than look at google and the Pixl. Both didnt have a lot of experince in camera department, but they have money for R&D

Apple has few Nokia camera guys in their sleeves after Microsoft took over Nokia's phone business.

It is not know yet about Google but relatively upper hands that could create own receipt of secret sauce for camera.

Plus tremendous amount of research and development budget, in contrast of Xperia that get cut for few years now.
