Hey guys.

Bought my K750i a few days ago, and it crashes! The updates don't seem to be downloading either - hate to repeat what already has gone on but it's really not working. Here's what I've done so far:

Downloaded USB Update Driver from SE website (in My Documents), uninstalled PC Suite, SE Drivers and disable firewall. Followed the instructions, but my PC (Win XP Home) doesn't recognise the 'New Hardware' (The USB connection is working fine normally)

So I go into the Device Manager screen and maximise the Universal Serial Bus Controllers drop down menu, and right click on the port my K750i is plugged into, and tried to update the driver that way. It said it had been successful so I try the actual update. After completing everything on the checklist screen (including re-installing PC Suite) the next screen is blank, and nothing happens...

Help! The crashing is doin my head in! I'd have thought since it's a new phone, it would come with the latest software!?!

Yeap, that's what it is.
If you don't have JAVA installed, you just get that blank screen and nothing happens. The website should give you a warning or something instead of just going blank letting you think: where did I f**k up??
But it's not your fault. Just install JAVA, (it's free) and then you'll be fine.

As this appears to be a common problem, I have included a link to Sun's J2RE in the first post.

I seem to remember the sues client install having the option to install J2RE ticked by default....

Thanks for the Java tip - i've installed it and the update program ran. However i have now got to the bit where i power off the phone, hold 'c' etc etc...and the update software just seems to hang. I disconnected my phone and everything seems to be working fine, but I'm getting frustrated now! Might try and risk turning off the firewall before the update.

I'm thinking about using DaVinci now...
