I can understand the frustrations of SE fanboys. When you don't have anything to stand on you naturally become aggressive.
I just read in the xda-developers forum that the first impressions with the X1 are that it is slower than the HTC Tytn II. I've been using a Tytn II for about a week now, no restarts, everything works but unfortunately it's WM (I've updated the ROM to 6.1). In comparison with the P1, Tytn II is about the same speed, maybe slightly faster but not very noticeable.
So in practical terms, the X1 will be about the same speed as the P1, probably with a lot of crashes, so adjust your expectations accordingly.
If SE comes up with a good P series phone I will get it, otherwise my P1 will most likely be my last SE phone. Things aren't looking good for SE, I believe that is what @doministry is saying.

mizzle this is the rumors thread, dom was only making a valid comparison with other manufacturers that have already announced, some have shipped their business oriented products. yet your defending a company who is BLAMING the segment that they need for the near $300,000,000 operating costs loss so far this year.

i think dom has an EXCELLENT point and you sir, need to remove the blinders. this is a serious subject that in fact DOES belong here. There are no rumors about phones that NEED to be released. there is this absurd vacuum of phones from SE from platforms that are 3 years old.

SE has focused on the entirely wrong segment, and in doing so has written a large check for second biggest "L" in the mobile market this year (motorola being the largest)

the fact that SE has decided to abandon (my inference comes from the language used in the press release about their Q2 losses) that the high-end business segment which they failed to innovate in or even release a competent product due to HORRIFIC engineering and planning, was the cause of their losses is asinine. yet for some reason you fear/hate/loathe dissension in a thread that for its part 'HELPED' in the cancellation of paris, because of said dissension, but it was mainly the internet community turning a cold shoulder to a anemic device! which would have been a monumental failure esp with the likes of HTC/Samsung/Nokia all releasing devices that would have placed Paris at the bottom of that very nice barrel, wouldnt have even been close.

if we take a look at the i8510 vs C905 we find that they are very similar yet holistically different, one being a java based platform (poor choice) vs a symbian S60.r3 platform. SE needs to go ahead and forget 2008, i hope that sony stepping in will at least get the engineering team working again, they have had a 18 month vacation.

For all the display tech sony has, its ashame we havent seen that seep into phones for the world market yet. the japanese market doesnt count, only because those phones will never reach outside of said market. they have the tools yet refuse to work on anything new.

im not sure why you want dom to leave, because there are other phones out there that have piqued his interest. however you did prove his point even if you dont see it, this is a rumors thread, and to be an informed consumer he would like to know whats on the horizon, IE RUMORED to come out. yet you would rather him NOT know what SE is doing, and run to the competition ... if i were you id think about what your asking him to do on a larger scale, cuz it sounds like this:

"If you dont like what SE (we) are doing then, go buy from our competition we dont need/want you around, unless your pouring praise."

seriously, you personify the problem with SE.
