I have a hands-on with Honami (and the other new products that will be announced) on 11 September at the launch event in Belgium ^^
Please post some impressions about Honami. Performance, screen, build quality, design, practicality compared to zu and z etc...
Also, can you confirm Z1 as the final name?

so honami is "massive"
while ZU is larger by volume
I prefer it "massive"... beefier and more solid are all positive points to me!
Obviously not if it is so heavy that I need to go to the Gym to carry it around during the day
The weight gives me the feeling of a more Reliable and Resistant unit!

, even the thickness is more than welcome till 1cm (not more)... if it is too thin it scares me normally, I'd be always afraid of breaking it!!!
-15 days to the Announcement (already with my fingers crossed)

I can wait till Ambroos gets his hands on Honami. and to Ambroos, if possible could you do screen comparison with your Z or any AMOLED smartphones you own as well as some ISO100 sample pictures?
@Crownedakuma I agree, if it was a laptop I'd really moan over the weight, but this is just a smartphone anyway and 180grams wouldn't break your limbs

so I always prefer heavy smartphones as it gives us impression on how jampacked it is deep within

last year I was so bad mouth how heavyweight Nokia Lumia 920 at that time.
I hope it won't suffer same fate as Lumia 920.

Not sure if the ISO can be set manually, if it can I'll take some. As I said I'm taking my NEX-5R and have a good low-light lens, so I can shoot some videos showing off the differences between the Z and Honami. Since I only own Sony electronics I don't have any AMOLED phones. I do have an OLED Walkman (X-series), but that is some old tech so not worth comparing to.
Don't know what the final name is yet, but I don't expect it to be i1, it doesn't make sense. Z1 doesn't make much sense either IMO but it's possible.

The X series may be old but it is a fine piece of hardware with excellent sound quality and physical controls for playback on touchscreen device. Although the wifi was useless, mine served me a good 2 years before the headphones broke.
I thought the honami camera would allow users to select iso and what not, ie manual mode?

You can set manual ISO even in Xperia S/P etc

Hah, right, never used. I'm not a big phone cam user, never satisfied with the quality since I've always had a DSLR.

just a crazy thought. can you submerge Honami in water and try to use it for a while?
