HELP! on behalf of laffen and kari
they're supposed to leave tomorrow. today is their 21st day in the philippines and is the expiration of their visitor visa. when they went to the immigration office today, there is an 'occasion/party' and the immigration office closed before noon. so, they were not able to get they 1-day extension, which means they're overstaying for 1 day.
question is:
1. can they leave the country?
2. is there a penalty? how much?
any help will be appreciated!

i have talked to our travel agent.... they just have to pay a penalty for overstaying in the phil., minimal amount, depends on the nationality.

He can leave tom. but he will be blacklisted and he can no longer visit rp. a simple case of overstaying. there is no such thing as one day extention. 21 days is the standard. if he has plans to go back here, i highly suggest he extends his tourist visa first b4 leaving rp. the sad thing is, this takes a day or 2 excluding holidays/sat./sun.
