looks good to me. i think the critical element is that the brightness isn't at 100% in this video. it's at an appropriate brightness for the room lighting

These two give an idea as to why things are the way they are when it comes to mobile imaging.. especially the light gathering ability.

I would say that Sony are over achieving with the Z1.. good job

@cu015170
Thanks for this chart...
This is what I wanted to see... Z1, seeing the sensor size, was clearly not able to win against the 80 or the 102... but I wanted to know how it could perform against the s4Zoom... and it wins... this is what interest me, this means that Sony optimisation has done it's job! and the work was really useful...
Still I think the Z1 impressed me more than I thaught... it even stands against the 1020 without losing so much (even if it still loose, clearly ) I'm very happy and I will buy this phone so gladly... I had concern with the Z (even if I was blown away by its design) and they are all solved this time around...
-processor
-screen
-audio (speaker and 3,5 jack with port)
-camera...
Well now is all resolved

@dacha
in this video the screen looks really good...
Better whites and black than the Z Ultra also, colours reproduction is GREAT... still the viewing angles are not so good, but a lil better than the Z

Triluminos AH-IPS is super, but you buying S4 you have 100% Super Amoled. You buying Xperia Z1 you have maybe TN, maybe AH-IPS.
Because S4 has better screen.

don't spread lies. no one has said or confirmed that the Z1 screen will ever have a TN screen.

Sometime last week I posted some photos taken with the Z1 I also mentioned how good the screen was compared any other Sony device even Z Ultra, I have now been told that it was a retail unit. I honestly can't praise the screen high enough Sony haven't just improved it the have in my opinion got a market leading screen on their hands now. Black were inky black and whites were pure and all the colours in between were as good if not better than the HTC One for accuracy. Anybody who says different looking at this phone either has cataracts or needs their eyes tested the screen really is that good.

BRAVO SONY, BRAVO
