anybody know what rogers' 3G frequencies are? i'm wondering if this means the north american (i.e., ATT 3G compatible) model will be available then too.

Have SE actually confirmed a specific release date in Q1? If they haven't then how can it be delayed.

In November there was a date available...

sorry but how does releasing a phone for christmas mean better sales??

dont know bout over there, but phone sales have been poor over christmas here. well, only thing which say higher sales are the cheaper things, like prepaid/payg

Generally half of all retail sales happens at this time of year, and that was definately true of Carphone Warehouse when I used to work for them some some 8 years ago - not sure if this is still the case, but either way, the Christmas shopping period is key for retail...

Ok, but you've heard wrong. We talked a bit more and it is an irritant ###### thing that slows down the launch. Namely, that Qualcomm can not clear the platform. It would have been ready V.40 but is not ready yet.

Are you a bit conspiratorial as one might imagine that Google had to slip in the queue. So it has nothing to do with software.

I haven't written it off, but the existence of the Nexus One is a serious blow to the X10's chances. It was originally thought (by some) that the X10 would be the first 1GHz Snapdragon Android handset, and a clear class leader - not any more.

Like I said before, they should have dropped the X2 and gotten the X10 out a lot sooner - and if you aren't convinced that the X2 was a waste of development resource, read this - http://news.softpedia.com/new[....]ricsson-Xperia-X2-131164.shtml

After the "success" of the Satio and X2, could there be more riding on the X10 now?

Which one of those have you used?
X2? X10? Or maybe none?

If that's a fact that you haven't even touch any of them,
stop talking about things you have no clue about really.

Oh wait! Vodafone is not having HTC HD2 anymore and is not planning to stock it...
That must be a sh..ty device!

HAHA you FISHES!

FINALLY SonyEricsson is stepping up to the plate!!!

Here in Canada ... the X10 will become available SOON on our 2nd largest provider Rogers Wireless and its the FIRST TIME ANY SonyEricsson phone will be available AT LAUNCH at the same time as those of you in EUROPE!

I'm so happy for SonyEricsson right now. No I won't be buying one anytime soon, but I'm VERY happy for them.
Considering the Google phone just looks like CHEESE to me and seemingly to the rest of the world, this bodes VERY well for SonyEricsson. Their device announced early is being delivered in style and competitive!

I suspect the January release window was dreamt up by somebody at SE back when they still thought it was okay to release horribly buggy phones to early adopters - before the embarrasment of the Satio and the public shaming that the retailers wrought on SE. Maybe someone got nervous about repeating that again so soon.

Or maybe they've decided that the X10's launch was likely to get lost in all the Nexus One's hooplah anyway? Do they release now and try to shout louder than Google, or leave that to settle down and release in March when the X10 is even more out of date? An unenviable choice.

What they should have done? Dropped development of the pointless and similarly delayed X2 several months ago, piled all their resources into the X10 from the onset, and released this phone before Christmas when it could have had a real impact.

+10 Boinng but that would have taken foresight and planning... and this IS we are talking about! Happy New Year
