Hello Dr.Thug

yes indeed, there are plenty of those vehicles on the roads here. The Mahindra Scorpio is also increasing in popularity, to the extent that one can hardly drive along any major route without spotting at least a handful of them. The local Mahindra dealership is doing very well, whenever i'm in that area it's always bustling. Maybe i should book a test-drive sometime soon

Here scorpio is a rage...its cheap,looks good..and pure value for money..kind of a hooligan vehicle..to scare the little car owners.
Even though am a patriot,i am skeptic when it comes to Indian made vehicles...scorpio,people say "it behaves like a skateboard"...handling at high speed is not very confidence inducing...but now the new scorpio(tweaked by European engineers -- don't think its launched there yet) comes with a lighter better engine which people say is far better
@kryptic,book a test drive..and tell me what u think of that Indian vehicle.
tata cars have crap engine...but i saw the all new indica and sumo...looks impressive..and they come fitted with fiat engines.Finally i have a little respect for them.
Hope tatas learn something from their new toys - land rover and jaguar

@Dr- I am not so sure I would like to drive a Scorpio, even if tweaked by whoever. Imho that car needs more than a tweak to pass Janbobejan's quality control

Nevertheless, I can confirm what Krypta said. I believe it well sale well in 3-th world countries, where 'hi-speed' is not so high
On another note - what do you chaps think about the new, brilliant idea ANC come up with - Disband the Scorpions - Mind you, I eat them for breakfast too

Im not a huge fan of Tata or Mahindra but yep they are selling well here,something that im sure is going to do well here next year is that Tata Nano or whatever they call it, apparently its a student car,aimed at students in 1st year university who just need to get around.

@Janbobejan
Lol,yeah...that car needs more than a tweak to meet my standard too.And yeah it was developed for 3rd world countries...so maybe thats why its bad.They also sell it in some european countries...but am sure its a failure there.I heard that they are making a suv for the "developed" countries to be launched in 2010.
@gucci,i maybe joining for post-grad soon,so was looking for a use and throw car myself lol...
for SA's high vehicle stealing crimes,dirt cheap nano maybe perfect answer

Yeah, sad but thru - ask 'Brix' all about it. I remember 15+ years ago I used to install home alarms in 'up market' houses in Sheshego. (Location close to Pietersburg or whatever is called today). It was all 'Klingon' territory and my vehicle was so many times broken into (while I was in the house busy working), that I decided to 'electrify' it. And yes it worked like a charm, until one day I shocked myself (the remote's battery was flat and did not switch off the alarm/immobilizer/ shocker unit and I also got careless about checking it). Although I had shoes with thick soles, my right arm was lame for hours. I shudder to think what someone without shoes must have gone thru. Needless to say, I removed the system the very next day, but things got so much for the worse now, I am thinking to build another one, although my wife and kids won't agree for obvious reasons

You are extreme Mr Jan Bobejan.Says to his daughter "Sweety,wont you just go fetch Daddy's phone,Daddy left it in the car." forgets about shock device.Brrrrrrr lol
About disbanding the Scorpions,I think it stinks of something.Not quite to sure what at the present moment but theres something dodgy going down.
