Wow, the

Xperia X1 runs on the new, yet-to-be-announced WindowsMobile 6.1.
Pics and article in here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/xperia_x1_runs_on_windows_61-news-441.php
This should get Gucci's attention:
'520 MHz CPU used along with the Qualcomm 7200 chipset, the 128MB of available RAM and the 1500 mAh battery.'
Those specs were mentioned when the phone was announced, but it's great to see them verified on this live prototype. Finally a bril CPU; should keep Dogmann quieter for a while.. and that battery capacity seems impressive, unlike the N96's offering...
Still, the N96 and new iPhone lead the way in the on-board memory specs wars. (16 gig).

@ M-O,
I now live in the UK, hence the coverage.

My 'roots' are still very much in SA, though. You wanna check out that highlights package; that was one of the most thrilling ODI games for quite some time.
BTW, congrats on your new Havana Gold W910i! Love that exclusive colour on the new

Vodafone handsets.

My congrats on that W910i as well.Very funny story how your first one you recieved had already been used and abused. You quite a storyteller buddy. And then your unboxing photo's and those humorous taglines explaining each photo.Good one.Hope you enjoy. Those data cost are hilariously insane dude.Thank goodness I aint living in NZ.That would be enough to put me on a plane out of there.lol
Yeah I guess I am going to have to catch the highlights of that game on the news tomorrow! I missed it and it's now very early Thursday morning here! So I guess proper highlights are over by now. So you'd still support South Africa if they played England?
Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm really enjoying the new phone and I love the colour too. It's something a bit different to the usual black or silver! And a lot different to my previous

V630i. I've just found out its not so flash for gaming though. World Rally Championship (3D) has such a bad frame-rate that it's not even worth playing. It's frustrating! Otherwise, it's a great phone. What phones do you guys use?
Just found the rates for data on the NZ Vodafone website! They're a little WORSE than I had said!
All prices are NZ$ sorry! But HOBBS said 1.00NZD=6.3ZAR, so you'll get the idea.
Prepay - $11.25/MB (no, that's not a typo!).
Plans:
3MB for $11.25 + extra MBs cost $2.25 (This is on a plan!).
15MB for $21.38 + extra MBs cost $1.69.
200MB for $39.95 + extra MBs cost 50 cents.
1GB for $59.95 + extra MBs cost 50 cents.
3GB for $79.95 + extra MBs cost 50 cents.
To put this into perspective a bit, on the main NZ home broadband provider, my family get 3GB/month for about NZ $30.
The pricing above is mobile data pricing for non-business customers on plans, so business customers will get cheaper deals. But as you can see, you'd have to be very stupid to use data in New Zealand using Vodafone (and I believe Telecom is just as bad)!
I think either carkitter is phenomenally rich, or he's getting a very very good deal on his Vodafone plans. I suspect he has some contacts quite high up in Vodafone management.
I'd advise that if you come to NZ, either sort out a rate with your current service provider for roaming, or do all your internet usage at a computer, not a phone!
It's funny, I think I write the longest posts in your thread than anywhere else on Esato! So sorry about the long-winded replies guys!

@ Hobbs
Ive played on UIQ phones. Ive had a go at the P910 and i was fortunate enough to play with the P1 and W960 in October last year. I liked them but i prefer to have a Dpad, also don't like the idea of touching the screen and using a jogdial all just seems unecessary to me.
@ Wanqa
WOW! 520mhz!!? Not bad AT ALL boet, thats 120mhz more than the current WM Flagship device HTC TyTN-II. The battery yah is much better than N96, im still not sure what CPU N96 is using AND it looks like im not alone judging by the N96 Thread at Symbian Freak, NOKIA are keeping the CPU a secret.

Oh, absolutely, sir.

No worries matey; no apology needed.

It's great having such informative posts, and we used to have a bloke here (francois) whose post lengths usually eclipsed most of us on esato. Miss the guy.

@ Gucci,
Yeah I wonder why Nokia haven't made mention of that anywhere.
I'm sure Nokia'll surprise us with some new kick-ass CPU sooner rather than later...

Muhummad, my average mobile data usage is about 60 Rands per month, since all i do is browse the news, a few forums and a random site or two. Apart from that, the only downloads are one or two ebooks, so the data used very rarely exceeds 60 bucks. If our mobile data rates were as excessive as those in NZ i'd be terribly depressed, and would probably confine my internet usage to a pc as well. What's the cellular coverage like over there?

My data usage suprised me this month. It escalated from R30 to R153.man I was really
suprised.@MO,you guys are really paying dearly for data usage.
@Hobbs,today I got up-close & personal with P990.Man l must say it has the looks, the ui was a bit slow, probably old firmware(didn't check)Now I understand why you like your!If it was a stable phone no doubt I would have settled for it.
@M-O,I use a P1i which is @ the moment at SE Service center for the speaker, currently l'm cruising on a P910i.How is the UI on the w910.

Nice one Jmash.Mines stable and with the ability to turn off Transitions and after installing Tweak Peaks its runs pretty fast.I think its a great 'looker.' With its 'by now' dinosaur specifications it still looks like it packs a punch.lol One good thing of course about the choice you made is of course that 60-70 extra RAM you have after boot-up.Thats gold dude. Can't believe your P1i is still at the repair centre. You must be missing it to pieces.
My data usage comes to around R200 a month (thats with sending the odd sms) I also browse extensibly using wi-fi at work so a more accurate figure can't be obtained.Sometimes I wonder why I even have a phone.I hardly use it for what it was made for, calling and text messaging. I just browse browse and browse some more and of course listen to my tunes.I think my battery does a pretty good job with how much I use it.I charge every night so its full so the next day I have a full days usage. If I didnt browse and listen to my music all day I could maybe squeeze 3 days out of it.Who knows though.I've never given it a chance to see what this battery is capable of.I remember as soon as I unboxed it I played with it until the battery died and then did my 12 hour charge.I just couldnt wait to test drive.
@MO Eish buddy.I did a conversion (doesnt really matter to you) but for 1mb Im going to be paying R22.30 Over here we pay R2/mb but you can buy data bundles that work out to you paying like 0.32/mb which works out for you to like 0.05NZD 5 cents. So come visit and you could have a 'browsing overdose'
