is Q4 too late?
I think so
that's why Nokia is still top, and Samsung is maintaining the 2nd place.

No, that's not why Nokia is top and Samsung is 2nd. It's because they both sell a kabillion cheap phones at very attractive profit margins. I'm amused by the naivety of internet posters who think high end phones make or break a manufacturer. They really don't.

Calling xumdeo naive is not exactly the first thing I would do.
And of course selling cheap low-end phones totally destroys the innovative image SE had because of phones like the T610 etc.

Yes they do. If a company got a couple of amazing phones, everyone wants them. If one can't affort one of the more expensive solutions, that person is going for a cheaper one, but the same brand. So, lets take nokia as an example. They had n95. If I saw n95 but couldn't afford it the chance is pretty large that ill buy a cheaper nokia, just because of that i want the best nokia.

you are right, market share is because of low/mid-low end volume. but that's not what I was referring to
nokia and samsung are able to move resources a lot faster than SE
they're able to release phones right after announcements, let it be high end or low end
nokia learned their lesson from the first E-series devices, and decided to keep everything shut until they are really ready, so that's something SE should learn IMO, but I think they are just about to make yet another mistake in the next few hours, certain things are not meant to be shown, it's bad publicity when the final product doesn't match up with things that will come out 7 months later. I'm not expecting that it will sell enough even if released today to change the market share, but it brings the brand lower than it originally was after hyping it up. that is the problem.
they've done it with the w880, they've repeated it with the X1. now they are doing it again. good luck.

Well if Hikaru has an 8MP AF cam and is dlna certified then I'm sold already.
All the best sellers for SE have been the high end feature phones. They need to reclaim the glory that the K800i gave them. The C905, but as a candy-bar, would do well but I know that won't be announced today.
BTW, nice front page Oli.

X1 was definitely too late on the market...
W880i preview was ok and the final product, but everyone knew how it looked by then because it leaked pretty early.
