Update...

Screen is pretty bright and looks good...

Not really sure what I am looking for in terms of viewing angles etc.

What is supposed to be wrong with the screen?

Camera I need to play with more, not had much chance for pictures.

Speaker and earpiece volume much improved - and very clear.

Led is hidden in a small hole at the front but you cannot see it from behind.

Box just came with charger and earphones, plastic screen and wipe thing.

It's very very fast which is good.

Quite big, but not too big to hold with one hand - just a jump up from the T.

Will have more use time tonight and tomorrow...

I will find out today when it arrives, I've had a Z and a ZU both - Z screen was good - Ultra screen was absolutely amazing in every way - I expect my new Z1 to be as good as ZU or better

but I have to admit there does seem to be a disparity creeping through as more retail units become accessible - not perhaps bad screens but some better than others of ZU standards and that is a high bar

The colours are wonderful and vibrant, bringing everything to life. Viewing angles are fantastic.

Some of the guys posting there don't know anything about displays and their technology.

Quite every display has TFTs inside (Thin Film Transistors), there is no TFT-display, this term is not correct.
Every so called IPS(+), SuperLCD, AMOLED, "Retina" displays contain a TFT layer.
TFT is not inferior, in fact is superior to older LCDs without TFTs.

It's easy to distinguish a TN panel from a superior display panel. TN dispays shift into a negativ when viewing from a certain angle, which clearly does not happen with the original Xperia Z. ("washed out"/brightness gain vs negative image)
Therefore no TN panel!

^thanks Dexter.. i was just too frustrated to even bother explaining haha.. BTW the Dexter Series collection looks neat.. did you order one?

@XperiaJunkie - just click on the photo then click on PHOTO DETAILS on the right side for resolution and other details. It's not complete exif data, to get that you need to download. But you get the basics there.

Here is a review from 3G.co.uk it is very positive says viewing angles are great and the screen although not as bright as they would of liked is superb. Sorry if it has already been posted but I haven't seen a link to it yet so happy reading
