That's a very unfair comparison on phonearena's end, no one should go by that result when comparing a phone to a DSLR. You may compare the iPhone 6 Plus to the Note 4, but not with the Canon EOS 650D. Main reason is they shot with RAW on the Canon, then they convert it back to JPEG themselves. Whereas on the Iphone and Note, everything was done in auto. Meaning, they never let the DSLR use its own JPEG engine to process those images, and the phones did. Therefore the DSLR images are bland and not sharp, hence unfair!

Considering Sony's knowhow and present in camera department people's expectations regarding their smartphones are quite high, but not as much as that it couldn't be satisfied.
Not exactly sure where people get such expectation from. Sony's imaging department is in the same exact boat as their mobile department. Great hardware, under-performing softwares. Sony cameras are notorious for their JPEG engine, hence most don't shoot in JPEG. I bet if SONY enable raw on their Z(1+) series, people can get some crazy results out of it.

Agree OIS and the phase detection or contrast detection auto focus is the technology I want SONY to install on XPERIA. But look like it's just like dreaming.
Autofocusing is already contrast detect.
Can't use Phase Detect until the new PDAF sensor is ready for mass production.
Ahh thx for your information. Hope it will be given to Z5 hahaha.

I know this might anger a lot of people, but photography really is what u make of the gear u have, meaning someone with a crappy phone camera can still shoot amazing shots and someone else with a $5000 dslr can still shoot crappy photos. It is a talent that not all people have. I find xperia cameras to be top notch for realistic looking photos while samsungs are overly saturated and iphones to be a good medium between the two. Unfortunately, the masses tend to go for the overly saturated photos of the Samsung galaxies and then pretend they are photographers which they cannot compare to a dslr or mirrorless csc. I think what most people here are hoping for is for Sony to release an xperia with the near capabilities of, say, their nex line of mirrorless cameras. Which, while would be great, is physically impossible to fit inside a thin phone. That is why Sony created the excellent qx line of lens cameras, to give mirrorless camera quality and power to ANY phone...it is such a shame people have not given them more credit than they deserve. Sony are innovating, but it seems to go blind to the public because they are not a hip brand anymore. Sony have an image problem that they desperately need to address. These trends are cyclical, appple wasnt the hippest company around when they started nor will they the hippest forever. Samsung can only gain credit for slagging and copying other companies. I for one, cant wait until the day that both apple and Samsung are both seen as inferior and uncool, regardless of whether Sony is still around or not. But thats just me. Peace out guys and hopefully everyone will enjoy the new z4 when released...im sure it will be a blast, if not just to cause some controversy which Sony might need every now and then.

Sony Lavender rumored in works with 64-bit MediaTek SoC:
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_[....]it_mediatek_soc-news-11821.php
mid range. this is not likely the next z compact even though it carries the variant X5503 (like z1 compact).
Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra reportedly in the works:
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_[....]ly_in_the_works-news-11820.php
though not a new info and a misleading headline, gsmarena also suggest that 6" display phone in development from sony could be the next z phablet. more pressure on sony to make a new z phablet.

there is a good chance that it is indeed the next z phablet because it may be a bit too late for t2 ultra successor as more then a year passed since t2 ultra announcement, also, they may ditched that line anyway as they said they move towards making more high end devices.
anyway, as of now, we can expect ifa announcements of: main, compact, most likely compact tablet, and possibly also a z phablet. that is based on all the different sources. with that said, i would not be shocked if they delay the next q4 main for mwc next year and keep using the number 4 for all 2015 z devices.

A new device with dual-sim, LTE and non-LTE variants went through the FCC yesterday. Identical footprint to the Z3.
Wonder what that is.

Very assymetrical bezels, top one could be smaller.
MT6752 is a typical Mediatek, many cores, slow graphics. Combined with 1080p display it doesn't look good. I hope it's not Z4 Compact.
Unfortunately, Xperias often take undersaturated pictures, sometimes there's too much red or blue and most of all there are not enough details. Images are processed too heavily and it shows, there's too much noise from oversharpening. HDR mode is mediocre (you can use it only in manual mode with 8MPix resolution) as well as the contrast, panorama is a disaster. Most pictures are also overexposed. Don't defent the camera, sensor itself may be good but image processing is just bad in almost every way. And I'm not talking about the masses, experts didn't like Z3's camera either.

Sony were once the best in terms of mobile photography, The k800i, S700i and k750i days
"Other photomobiles can only envy to Sony Ericsson S700 for its excellent picture quality and large display with outstanding color imaging and high resolution."

LG G4 event invitation confirms f/1.8 lens, LED flash, laser focus
"LG's lens lets in a whole 11% more light than the f/1.9 lens on the Samsung Galaxy S6"
And you guys talk about Z4, which not even has OIS uhhh dual led flash.
