Hey Mac lovers. I have a question. A couple of hours when I got home I took out my Mac and started surfing the web. Nothing unusual just the everyday stuff. After 30 minutes I noticed that the Mac is really really got on the below side. Even the left side of the keyboard was warm but the DOWN side of the laptop was really hot, not like sometimes when it's just a bit warm. Anyone has any idea what could of coused that? If that happens what should I do? Before when that happened I shuted down the Mac and let it chill a bit.

If its a macbook pro, then its basically the aluminium that is conducting the heat and making you think its running hot. Basically when you could worry is when you hear the fans running on full power then you know the sensors are saying the temp has reached a certain point.

Sometimes this can happen when an application is not responding, I tend to find that normally is Safari so a good think to keep in your dock is Activity Monitor. (Go to Applications, Utilities to find it) Once open if your machine is running the fans at full power you should be able to see the culprit and the QUIT PROCESS (RED BUTTON at top) and thats it your machine will return to normal.

Enjoy your mac.

Bit of an old thread but hey its going back to the top.

Getting a new MBP to replace my old one, only a 13inch this time but im wondering what is the best way for me to transfer all my files/music?

If i remember correctly there is an option when you first boot to transfer over from another mac or something but if i do that will i get EVERYTHING transfered? There are a lot of programs and other s%!t i dont use or need?

Any suggestions?
