i imagine that since its an o2 contract and i'm guessing you havent flashed your phone with generic firmware (so that the top left icon on the main menu is a "play now" green arrow) then you will be awaiting an o2 specific release of the new firmware, which is yet to be available.

someone mentioned a couple of pages ago that they were able to update their phone in the uk, is this true, has anyone in the uk been sucessful through seus?? (on any generic/specific firmwares)

just tried my generic uk EU2 again and theres still none available

I think the O2 firmware is very close to generic - after changing the wallpaper then the only remaining piece of branding is the O2 logo in the menu (a vast improvement compared to Orange!) - it also mentions 'generic' within my SW info...

R1CB001
prgCXC1250210_GENERIC_WI R1CB001
CDA102511/41 R11A
EUROPE_2

So hopefully the generic and O2 versions should be pretty much out at the same time.

I remember someone posting that they'd managed to update in the UK but I wasn't sure if this was with a UK f/w phone or not - certainly all the other posters don't seem to be having any luck with UK handsets.

it does indeed say generic however your cda says otherwise, if you look at the bottom of the first post in this topic you'll see that CDA102511/41 is an o2 phone, uk unbranded ends with a 2.

the o2 "branding" is good in that there is very little, i do approve of this compared to other phone companies.

i'm glad im not alone in not being able to recieve updates. i look forward to trying in a weeks time or so.

Hi, my phone is an australian one. Which was debranded on Wotan. I would suggest others have 2 look at their R1ED001 details. U 2 may have an old camera version...

Yes I'd seen that - couldn't quite understand why the generic bit was in there given that it isn't quite. As you say though - as close to unbranded as can be hoped (and it was a discounted 'refurbished' model though OSPS - very good deal in the end )

Also noted that in Applications and Games folder a '0 kb file size' is shown instead of the actual size. Though you have say, 10 apps and games of 5 MB, the memory status remains showing 0 kb, 0 file. Just a minor miss, not the end of the world.

Thank god someone else noticed that. Now I can sleep easier . I wonder if this is a minor bug or intended, since you cannot actually move applications or games anywhere once they are installed.

One other thing I noticed that the new firmware fixed the DRM files bug I had. With previous firmware, the phone did not recognize DRM protected theme files (dm extension). Now this problem is fixed.

Incorrect. You can move them between the phone memory and the card memory, and vice verse. Where did you get the idea that you can't?

@ sapporrobaby

I have not gotten my M2 Micro yet, so I had no idea. Are you saying that once I move them to the memory stick, I can then back the installed apps back to PC?

No, but you can copy then back to the phone memory.

By unbranded do you mean you had already previously updated via Wotan? Because then it should be the same firmware.

I am on O2 aswell and their phones are pretty much unbranded anyway, just trying to clarify.

No..i mean that my handset is a generic version...i bought it from cpw on o2..but there's no branding whatsoever..i updated mine through seus yesterday, and now have the R1ED firmware (original was R1CB)...
