New to this forum, as in that I have been reading it for some months and now decided to register..

About to buy the Xperia V, but the feeling that I am getting when reading the posts in here is that I will regret it all too soon as the impresssion I am getting here is that big things are coming already Q1 and that Xperia V will be outdated already by the time I get hold of it..

Then again, one can not wait for the "next phone" as there will always be a "next phone" waiting in the pipeline..

(Cud be the reason why I have been hanging on to my rooted X10 for some years now...)

Yes smclion is right. There will no longer be any code alteration from Sony. It will be vanilla android + Sony launcher/theme and sony application apks.

So this way Sony can deliver Google Nexus like super fast android updates as they don't have to change any code but only add drivers, and optimize it.

@josetree

It's already in the first page, but still.

Xperia Dogo

APQ8064 Quad Core
2 GB RAM
13 megapixel camera
Water/Dust Resistant
2000+ mAh battery
Android 4.2
4.65 inch 720p HD screen with MBE 2

One thing, randomuser: Since it will be Vanilla, things like Sony Camera and Small Apps won't be there anymore? Since they rely on Sony Framework...

They may end up altering the coding so that it can run on Vanilla Android?
Dunno if its possible though...

Heard some rumors about a 4" 720p phone from Sony. What do we know about it? Name, size and when is it on the market.
I have been looking for a replacement for my ray. Which is a total f-up since I updated to ICS. Don't care for the monsterdisplays every new phone has. For me, 4 inch is maximum. Although i have been looking at the Xperia V and almost falling in love. But then i heard about this previously unknown phone.

So it's Water/Dust resistant too? Sounds good but not worth the upgrade over my Acro if it's still 720p. Yuga seems perfect but the pricing looks to be insane. Won't be able to afford it til like mid-end 2013 LoL and then if there is another phone that's better than the Yuga coming out I'd probly won't want the Yuga anymore!

Forget saving money, I can't walk around knowing I spent $700-800 on just a phone. And the Oppo Find 5 will cost $500? I love them but I can't stand Sony's "Premium Pricing" bullshit.

Any of Q1 Sony phones will have removable battery? I want to buy and keep new phone for 2 years or more and i need big screen 4,5 or bigger. I have now iPhone for 3 yrs and im missing this possibility (battery is weaker, im not always able to charge it) to buy new battery in store and just swap it, its cheaper this way and saves time. I know that Xperia V has removable battery but internal memory (only 8 GB) is much too small space for me i need 16 best 32GB. Odin and Yuga
are with non-removable batteries ? I think someone on this thread said so.

What i need:
screen 4,5 or bigger
16 or 32GB (with card slot)
camera button
2GB RAM (for future Android updates)
removable battery
good camera with cool stuff
nice design (plastic, need lighter phone as iP4)

This thread is huge and very interesting, 2012 thread was too. Thanks everyone for rumors.
