Wanqa's P1i 'art' with braai coals n' cam settings again:
@ tranced,
I think I'll be doing the same once it becomes available.
I like the P1i, although the green and magenta tint problems are occasionally annoying..
I really enjoy taking pics, so the 5mp offering on a smartphone touchscreen handset are major attractions for me. Also, the positionable auto-focus sounds like a great feature for those who are more demanding pic-takers.
The much smaller dimensions are another plus for me. I've carried P900's, R380's, Moto A800's etc over the years and the P1i's dimensions are already much more 'pocketable', so this should be even better.
Just 2 things I'm not mad about, both very minor for me, at this stage:
1. No HSDPA
2. Bland looks, ie. a flattened K750i or K610i would look very similar...
Yeah, and after reading the preview on GSMArena, I can see myself with one before the end of the year...

nice FX there
since i got my p990 i have never thought in getting a java phone. so i decided the g900. it seems to meet all the specs i need. i dont care too much about the hsdpa. 3g or edge would do the trick for me. its look, i think it's ok. it's slimmer than the p990

. but the camera is a good point in here as im a pic-addict.

I'll probably sell the P1i once I get the G900; there wouldn't be much point for me to have 2 UIQ3 smartphones..
It's due out here in July, but as we know,

release dates can be notoriously unreliable.

Ya, I've never bought a phone as soon as it is launched because of the crazy prices and very limited 'deals' with the networks.
I've also been pretty patient and waited a good few months before doing something like that, otherwise it's an obvious case of throwing good money away.
Both my P900 and P1i were out for several months (after which prices dropped) before I purchased them.

Yeah, I gotta get going soon too; we're off to friends for our usual Saturday night barbecue, but the weather's threatening to spoil our plans tonight...
Anyway, thanks, you have a great weekend too, mate.

Wow, no sooner do the Orange network get the W380i in both colours...and they're out of stock already!
Fair enough, they may have had only limited initial batches, but still...
