@ tranced,
That's unacceptably poor service, mate. Is there no way you can take it to another phone repair/service centre?
That's as bad service as what Jmash has experienced with his P1i in SA. Honestly, form my ivory tower, I don't know how some of these repair places get away with being so tardy and delivering such pathetic service.
It's just unacceptable in anyone's language.
it seems the phone's fixed. when i went to the shop, i asked to a guy there that if he's seen him(the man who was fixing it) with a w800 and he said yes. he was even using it. so it means that the phone's fixed already.
im hoping he's really fixed it.

@ tranced,
Fingers crossed that they've fixed it properly. Hopefully it's also not picked up any additional marks or scratches while it's been there, i.e. that they've taken very good care of it.
When I took the N73 in for a firmware update by the official Nokia service centre in central London, I politely forewarned the guy that the phone has strong sentimental value (LOL) and that I'd be expecting to see it in exactly the same cared-for condition as when I left it there.
A few hours later (they were very busy), I collected the N73 and the exterior was indeed exactly how I left it, with the new firmware installed.

Well guys, for now the SA thread is the 6th biggest thread ever on esato!
http://www.esato.com/board/stats.php
The Slovak, Indian, UK, Philippine and (soon to be) Dominican threads lead the way, plus the non-regional chat thread.
Still, for a relatively small, dedicated band of cellphone technology geekstas from SA, it's certainly not too shabby, hey?
Well done to one an' all!

Hobbs, speaking of your grandpa, did you ever get stuck into that writing-box restoration project?
Wanqa, not bad going indeed, the thread has really grown by leaps and bounds since Brix got it started.

I'm due an upgrade this week but I'm holding out...dunno what for but I've decided to take my time.
Have to add that my second N70 has been a trooper...its been lobbed about like a molotov cocktail and received heavy knocks.
Mostly I use it to check my mail- while I'm in bed- and checking on RSS feeds for some of my favourite sites like huffingtonpost.com.
So when I finally decide, it might be the P1 or W960...its definitely going to be an

@Kryps-I finished the writing box (writing slope) on the 3rd of this month.Thats when he's birthday was.It was painstakingly painstakingly painstaking.Didnt take photo's unfortunitely because I was in such a rush and fuss to get it to him for his birthday that I totally forgot. It turned out pretty good.Looks beautiful.Ive given it another lease of life.Restoration is not for the faint-hearted.Glad I did it though.I saved a writing box that I had found in his garage dying a slow death that is worth a good couple of bob and is quite old.He just didnt know what a little treasure he had.He was over the moon.

Very true, should've obviously stipulated that the contributions from those outside the SA borders (and without SA links) have been a huge and significant factor as well; it also highlights the friendly, approachable and congenial vibe that we have in here.
@ Mario, LMAO; as relentless as I am (LOL), it'd take a few Wanqa clones to pull that off, 'bud'.
