There is a flap for charger and mini jack; you've just not noticed. Why doesn't Sony use a slider like LG did on the original Optimus? come to think of it ONLY LG has ever used a slider for their port covers and did so only 1 time.

I am honestly having trouble figuring out what you base your ....opinion.... on, the only difference I see between the Z1 and a Mini version would be the screen and the battery being smaller - the device might even be a little thicker, now anyone that understands the tech will know why I'm saying this
The problem with forums like these is people give random opinions without actually explaining why they are saying what they are saying - smaller screen requires smaller battery - the camera and the CPU and GPU have nothing to do with it
I know exactly what I'm saying, thanks. I just mean that the Snapdragon 800 is by comparison a bigger SoC than usual and it requires quite some power while in use. A smaller display would help, but reducing the battery size with a Snapdragon 800 would lead to too little usage time under load. And well, a Snapdragon 800 has no use really, especially not for non-full-HD-phones. A Snapdragon 400 makes more sense. A Snapdragon 600 might work too, but they'd have to be careful.
Plus, a bigger device equals slightly better heat dispersion. When you're dealing with powerhouses like the 600 and the 800 that becomes important. There's a very good reason Samsung never used the Exynos 5 dual in smartphones.
Actually, the SD800 is virtually as power efficient as the 600. So I don't see what the point of your argument is, or how it is you can make that claim with such authority when tests prove it is not so.

Also, I have no idea what you're talking about when you say the 800 is bigger than usual. What is usual? Both the 800 and 600 are quadcore built on 28nm manufacturing. Making arbitrary statements, like "bigger than usual" is not a helpful starting point for a discussion.

Indeed that conversation was about the new magnetic charger, no flap!
And yes I still fail to see the flap on honami mini jack, because there is not!

Web browsing can't be considered high load. Under high load (which is for example stitching a Photosphere, playing a heavy 3D game, ...) the difference is bigger.
I'm not saying it's technically impossible, I'm saying it's technically not interesting, and I'm saying I don't believe Sony will release any handset with a display much below the Honami's size.

So many different, conflicting answers... The thing is that Sony/SE have been very slow with updates in the past and with the case of the X10, they skipped an update to Android 2.2, choosing instead to go straight to 2.3. Do you think they would take the same approach as before, in that case, for the Honami; going straight for an update, after the Honami's release, to Android 5.0?
