Im really surprised at how limited this phone is in the video playback dept. Before it was the case that SE phones could play decent quality MP4s that Nokias couldnt now W960 cant even play basic H264.

Anyone out there having any issues, with album art?

I have tried a few option;

1. Sync directly with WMP, it see's phone fine, and it sync my music fine, but everything except album art is there. All the album art is fine in WMP.

So I then formatted the drive, and tried;

2. Used the provide Media Manager software. I fired it up and it found all the music on the computer, and displayed it, complete with track id, and art work etc. Synced the phone, and same again, everything fine, but no artwork.

Any ideas?

David

I have some games on my computer and the file extension is .sisx so I was wondering if they work with UIQ? I got them from a Nokia-themed site so I am guessing not but I thought I'd ask as I have a few good ones I'd love to put on the phone.

bav, like i said to you, h263 videos made with m3 are great quality, more than decent, and there also plenty of divx/xvid/avi players, one of them free, that work fine...unfortunately for h264 core player is needed. so if you consider all this, the w960 is not a bad portable video player

dcuk7, beware those sisx might be symbian s60 and not symbian uiq, so they wont work on the w960

I got the Martin Fields screen protector cos Im a bit paranoid about scratching the screen in the pocket (I dont like using the pouch) and I have to say its pretty amazing. Only ever tried to protect the screen on one phone before and it was a nightmare. This one fits perfectly and the touch screen still works fine with it on. It came with a camera lense protector as well but Ive not put it on yet. Anyone tried the lense protector? Does it affect image quality and is it easy enough to get back off again from in there?

floatlite - I've only ever copied music to my W960 using the fast file transfer mode. I copy the music into folders off the music folder on the media storage and each folder has a cover.jpg in it. I then do a "update music" from the "more" menu and all music/cover art appears OK. Try doing an "update music".

just received my w960i, (which i managed to persuade 02 to give me free as an upgrade on a 12 month £45pm contract). really, really happy with the phone. its such a step up from the old sony ericsson that it replaces.
one question though...
i sent all the contacts from my old phone to my mac and it saved them all in the address book. then i put the sim in the w960i and bluetoothed them all from the computer to the phone. all contacts recieved fine and are in the phone book just as they were on the old phone..... however, all the defaults have gone and i cant work out how to re do them on the new phone (i.e - if i have 2 numbers stored for 'dave', his home and mobile number, i want the phone to automatically call his mobile when i press 'dave' in the contacts). My old s.e. did this fine, on the new one i cant seem to find a setting for making a particular number a default. anyone got any ideas? am i missing something obvious?
