Seems Sony Ericsson NEVER learn they still don't have the X10 on the market yet!
Classic SE again - leaking that now (no doubt many months ahead of any possible release) to make themselves seem ahead of the game, never mind that it makes the X10 seem even more dated already.

My original point was about the HYPE surrounding the Nexus One, not the device itself. What should all the other manufacturers do now that the Nexus One is out? Quit Android altogether?
Hi Syn happy new year,
I do not think anyone will be walking away from Android, From a business point of view the Nexus One is exactly what the Android platform needed, a sexy device with a well known name behind it, and all the better attributes of the iPhone, plus expandable storage, replaceable battery, reasonable pricing and contract flexibility and a high wow factor.
IMHO Google with the Nexus One have just set the bar at a new height for Super Phones, Android developers, indeed the whole sector. Sony Ericsson with the X10, Apple with the iPhone and Moto with their future offerings, should take advantage of this opportunity and develop devices & applications that challenge the Nexus it will be to our (The Paying customers good).
I am NOT a fan of the iPhone but its arrival set the standard to which all other smart / super / pocket pc's aspire (Dammit!) the Nexus is the first device I have seen that genuinely rivals the iPhone's position long may it continue.
However for Sony Ericsson I fear it will be yet another lesson they will fail to learn.
They are already trumpeting a "Baby X10" whilst the X10 still languishes in the lab with a number of issues, an out of date OS and

trying to blame to unavailability of the snapdragon platform (As available in the Nexus One) for its woes! They are beginning to sound like a football managers "Its everybody's fault" but not ours!

Truly pathetic!!!
I am lost for words. This company is either living in another world to the one that has the likes of Nokia, Samsung, Apple and even Motorola or it really has no clue how to run its business. The baby X10 isn't a bad idea in itself, it is actually an excellent one but that the X10 is still nowhere to be found makes this exercise really mind boggling or silly.
If the X10 is released in March then the likelihood that the 'baby' will be released soon after evaporates, it will probably come in July when there will some seriously stiff competition from the other manufactures.
Good luck in surviving this year SE cause you are really, really going to need it.

Sony lives in another world too.... Take a look at Samsung 8000 series LEDTVs and find me on model of sony to compare... Walkman is slowly dying... etc
I have a feeling that this could be the last year for "sonyericsson" joint venture....
Some new staff here for x10 just to stay on topic

I am a SE Fan.
How many people are going to buy the x10 and be guinea pigs for SE ( Like The P990 Days ) Why can HTC and Google get it right with the launch of the nexus one. Even the N900 is out now .
SE Sounds like a car manufacturer that designs beautiful concepts but never ever delivers on time

Hi there,
I have two simple questions, sorry in advance if these have been answered before.
1) what is the video recording capability of X10
2) does it have a frontal camera for video calling?
Thanks.

Anyone to anything can be a guinea pig. There are guinea pigs for 5800, the N97. If you're tester for SE, it doesn't make any difference at Nokia or any other brand for that matter.
