I don't really give a shit about RAM. Nobody really needs 6GB RAM in the current market, but the lack of OLED display IS disappointing.
SnapDragon 820 is pretty much the standard. Can't really argue about that not being competitive. Camera is what camera is. The Sensor is amazing on paper, really depends on their Image Processing Software.
Semantics aside.
Chinese companies offer low prices for massive specs, because they are Govt. backed. They have enough money from other sources to swallow enormous unit-losses. They don't need profitability, because they are adopting a price-penetrative business model. Get in at low prices to build brand recognition and then jack 'em up when they're widely known. Notice how Huawei's phones are getting more expensive every year? Same with Xaomi and so on and so forth.
Sony doesn't have that fortunate position. They got to sell phones at a profit for it to be sustainable. The entire company is on the cusp of really returning to complete profitability from all its divisions. They could stuff in all the specs and sell phones at a loss, but that isn't sustainable. They don't got the cash to bankroll that. f**k even Samsung's mobile division only recently started turning a profit again after a period of losses (despite being the top Android OEM).
Meh whatever. Just gonna wait and see.
I was in the market for a Note 7 (stylus pls), but there are reports of Samsung withdrawing shipments due to a number of Note 7 batteries
exploding.

All real sony fans should boycott Sony.It seems they really have given up their fans.X compact no waterproofing?snapdragon 650 processor?and it will most likely cost over 400euros.Why on earth would someone buy x compact over z5 compact?Sony should stop being both overpriced and underspec'ed.They should choose one,either overpriced and amazing specs,or standard specs and low price.

Dude, go eat a dick. I friggin' well understand Sony, I worked there for 6 years. I'm still a major Sony fanboy, and have no problem saying that these phones aren't for me. I want a true flagship replacement to my Z Ultra, or at least a current premium variant.
Fine nuances are nice and all, but they only matter once you already own the phone. They're not entirely enough to get the masses to make the plunge and pick up the phone in the first place.
