is the w960i screen scratchproof so that you dont need to put a 3rd party screen protector on it.
is it safe to use the battery from the p1i in the w960i as it is higher capacity and last longer?

I was really looking forward to getting this phone. I paid Ģ300 on ebay for it. I have to say i'm really dissapointed with it for the following reasons:
When I install an app, it copies the fring icon onto all aps so they all have the fring logo?
I have to keep switching internet account to use vodafone live and 3rd party apps like fring or sky by mobile. this is a huge set back
The sound quality from the speaker is awful. my old k800 sounded better.
It can't stream wma or mp3 radio stations. big downside
There is such a shortage of 3rd party applications for it. I can't find anything useful to put on it.
The only application I can find are just java. My old k800 can run these too. The w960 is no more advanced.
The fonts on the display seem inferior to the k800. The k800 fonts look more modern and smoother.
the phone is slow and often hangs.
can't get it to stream videos from vtap (see if you can goto
http://m.vtap.com) this is a great site that lets you stream youtube and other online videos.
The phonebook is horrible. what are all thoses tick boxes on the left for?
No FTP application for it.
No skype.
I was using a HTC touch before this whicj i'm going back to. Windows Mobile just blows symbian uiq 3 out the water. You can get everything for WM. Skype MSN messenger, FTP apps and so much more. If you like this symbian thing you'll be blown away by windows mobile.
Am I missing something here? I really want to like this w960t but i've taken a big step back from windows mobile.
Does anyone agree? might have to put this back on ebay.

@ Mark Watson
I haven't got a w960i but am considering getting one so your post has me worried !
How come you have to keep switching internet accounts?
I tried
http://m.vtap.com on my w880i and it worked OK, seems odd it won't work on a w960i

How come you mention fring, then say there is no way to use skype??? And what does the fact some apps get the fring icon makes to you, in terms of problems??? My p1 runs vtap...if youīre using wifi for that, it might be the rooter blocking 3GP streaming
The tick boxes are in the phonebook to alow selection of several contacts...really donīt see what is the problem with it...but if you donīt like it, there are apps to replace the phone book
There are alot of 3rd , party apps, including ftp (http://groups.google.com/group/cdc-apps/files ), you seem to not know where they are. But of course, it does not compare with WM in terms of number of apps.
You can change fonts to whatever you want.
Regarding hangs and speed problems...well, read what the other users say...you might need to reflash the phone
etc

Im going to collect my w960 from o2 next week and just wondering if i made the right choice, i compared it with the n82 and didn't really like it, the n82 looks to plasticy and the w960 seems to have everything i want. i used to have a p900 and just wondering home much different and hopefully better is the software on the w960?

mark, just stop using vodafone live. there's nothing on it that you can't find elsewhere, and then there is no need to swap back and forth between the wap and internet apns.

it's just weird when

said that the battery of P1i will work in W960i when it doesn't fit in perfectly
although they claimed it to be scratch proof, it's very wise using a screen protector IMO

"You can change fonts to whatever you want."

can you not replace icons for any .png image anyway? W950 does this so surely W960 does??

@mark watson, check
here for font info - its for the P990 but I guess I'd work the same in a sense of putting fonts on the 8gb flash drive
