can you compare these pics...what can you say...both in extreme darkness flash fired...

ultimate 2.60 withan [auto+macro mode]

number1 2.99.5 se [document mode]

Is not a good sample for comparison, macro pics are always good. It was taken at complete darkness so the only difference is the whitebalace (incandescent in Ultimate flash) and maybe the colour saturation (00 for withan)

The only difference between Auto+macro and document is that document has more contrast and exposure (a little). You can use it too, It depends on the object.

but if you can see properties are almost the same exept for the exposure time....number1 is 1/40sec and ultimate 1/30sec other than that are the same...maybe its the white balance...but do you agree that with this 2 pics number1 has gain more color coz ultimate use tungsten as default wb?

Yes it could be the wb, or the wb and the colourgain. I don't know what is tha colourgain in n1 driver. You used flash RER that's why you got 1/30. If you were used Auto + macro it should be 1/6400

why does portrait and twilight portrait have full range AF (macro included)??
And this 2.6 is more flexible, but i loved this part in 2.46:
when i was in a mid to 70% lighted room, i used auto+flash and it took really nice pictures, that means the flash made it a little more bright, giving it perfect light condition (in normal driver flash wouldn't fire in this condition - enough light). Now with 2.6 i can't take pictures like that anymore, only with RER, but since it's not forced, it won't fire :/ what was the difference between 2.46 auto+FF and 2.6 FF ?? ISO, exposure?
example: go into a dark room, take a pictre with auto+FF... 2.46 made the whole room look great and no dark parts, now with 2.6 the back wall of the room is in mid darkness, only close objects are iluminated by the flash. hope u understand :/
Also whats the use of this new auto+flash in daylight stuff? it's night here, so i can't test it. anyone care to explain and give samples too?

1) For the '70% room' case (lol), you can use the Indoor special mode
2) Yes ISO is lower in 2.6 Auto, you should use Party mode I or II in a total dark room. Read first post info or the Readme

kk i got it, but why does the 2 portraits have full range focus? i mean u can enable macro in auto, and go to portrait and have macro.. this way it focuses slow :/ sometimes it takes long to focus and it even causes focal error. so we can enable it any time, but this way we are stuck with it. anyway i found a use for the auto+FF (i think).
