the criticism on sony is that they are late with releasing devices, late in the battle, for example, no OIS in honami while g2 already got it, late with software updates (they seemed to improve that), camera quality is mediocre because of software even when they sell other companies their camera sensors, the competition does a much better job with the software, the screen quality is mediocre, there are even criticism on trilluminos that it still got mediocre viewing angles and still looks dull - only when you get into photos the bravia engine is starting to work (x reality is the same right?), mediocre speaker. that's what i hear all the time. feel free to elaborate, maybe sony reads forums? they do listen to their consumers, right?
i can't wait to watch homani vs note 3 and g2 comparisons from mobile channels and websites. let's see how it holds against them. let the battle begin. soon...

So I haven't been here a while, and I heard some disturbing news. What's the current status on hardware stabilization in Honami? Does it really lack stabilization? That would be an epic fail.

Yes we had this debate already.

No hardware stabilisation, and no epic fail, thank you for not bringing this back.

Honami's release firmware will be in the same branch as the recently release Z Ultra firmware, so 4.2.2.

Do you know if for 4.3 update Sony merged Z/ZL, Z Ultra and Honami in the same branch?
Considering similar hardware and backwards compatibility of s800 it could be possible although probably unlikely, more probably they keep different branches for s4 Pro and s800 devices.

Z series remain on a different branch but gets backports of most Honami apps and the system style.

I agree with Amirprog and Admad, Sony has screwed it from the off this time.

No OIS is a massive epic fail, no 4.3 out of the box and other issues.

Even HTC One and G2 has OIS, Honami will be released a long time after the HTC One yet it doesn't have OIS, why? Poor again from Sony, always behind and will never be on top because they never have killer features.

Will be destroyed by the Note 3 and the G2.

Is this confirmed? I highly doubt it.

So how come it's not and epic fail? A device that was supposed to be "Cyber-shot" device, all the fancy names (BIONZ SuperSteady Shot etc.) even xenon flash in begining, is going to have worse camera than normal phones from competition? In today's market where OIS is practically standard, it is an epic epic fail no to include one in supposed camera flagship.

I believe Sony has a substitute for having no OIS we'll have to wait and see, personally I don't see much benefit in OIS compared to software image stabilization in a smartphone having limited zooming capabilities. In a proper camera with zooming capabilities OIS is important, but on a smartphone? I think not, even if it will improve it, I doubt it being all that better compared to a finely tuned software stabilization.

Lol, and seriously? having no OIS makes the phone a flop? exaggerated much, image quality comes first when talking about the camera.

@admad no it's not supposed to be a cyber shot device, did sony say so themselves? we'll have to wait for the official announcement before you claim those as facts as well as stating that it will have worse camera, that remains to be seen if it will be terrible or an excellent camera, remember everything here is a rumor unless officially announced by sony.
