I've been trying to upload the driver for 45 mins now using XS++ is this normal cuz i just unplugged the phone. are there any tips that u can give me? im using this through parallels (a program that runs windows on mac using virtualizaion)

Well, I just tried the 2.8 camera driver and it crashed on the 3rd shot. With exception to the sharpness option there's not much in it that I haven't already tried. i.e. increasing buffer and compression. And, the results are just as I expected. i.e. At 95% the file size of an image is smaller than one taken at 90% and i can't see any real improvement in image quality. It's really hard to know if there has been an improvement as the K800 is very inconsistant with the quality of pictures it takes.

Also, I'm yet to see any improvement of the jagged line effect. For those who don't think there is a jagged effect in the K800 here's a guaranteed way to see it - Go out side and take a side on picture of a white, silver or bright metalic car from say at least 4 metres away. Then view image at original size on a computer screen and look at the panel gaps and door frames.

I can't work out how to modify shutter speed.
tried some different values in

I changed 0E to 0A, but the hex values (14,10 respectively) don't make sense to me. Changing to 0A didn't result in any shutter speed changes for flash pictures. Is shutter speed related to another formula maybe?

Thanks a lot, anyway I think the setting is little aggresive on sharpening, cause it makes oversharp on some picture in Macro mode, I de-tune the setting to 03 instead 06, and it's resulted more balanced.

mongoose I know you don't want to hear it, but I'm sure I can't repeat the effect as easily as you say. My camera simply doesn't have the problem your's has. VERY occasionally I get a slight jagged line effect. I really don't believe all cameras suffer this "bug" as much as your's does.

My interest in modding has nothing to do with jagged lines, I'm more interested in clearing up the too heavy filtering or whatever causes this watercolour affect (that seems now to be a result of high ISO or at least related somehow). Though of course I hope you find a fix, I don't think camera driver modding will help you.

If my camera was spewing out jagged edge pictures the way yours is I'd be going back to SE for a replacement handset I can tell you now. It's not something easy to miss, and I just can't seem to reliably repeat the issue.

I thought the issue was bad enough that I actually did contact SE. I sent them samples too. SE told me it was JPG compression and to watch out for a firmware update.

I am still convinced this is an issue with all K800's and that there is nothing wrong with my K800. If there was a fault with my phone it would affect all photos - which it doesn't. I'd almost put money on all K800's having this problem. Have a look at this image (at full screen) from GSMARENA: http://www.mobilmania.cz/Arti[....]yEricsson_K800i&file=%2F09.JPG You can't miss the jagged effect around the windows and windscreen. You certainly can't miss it all over two of the cars in the back ground. It almost makes the image strobe. If you can't see that you're blind. The problem is some people just don't see the issue because they're off taking soft photos of flowers or people. Or maybe they have small monitors.

Max, I've certainly seen traces of the jaggedness in your photos and I've only seen a couple of your photos. I think you'll find it occurs most on highly contrasted edges. I'm convinced you can actually reproduce the problem with ease. So, do me a favour and go out and take some pictures of cars side on and prove me wrong. By that I mean full side on photo from about 4 metres away so that the car and it surrounds all fit in the photo. Auto mode in good lighting. Make sure you get a white car and silver car. Then email your photos to me or simply post them here: http://www.esato.com/phonephotos

Hi mongoose, i got some pics with that issue too (crop from 3 MP images).





But it's not only k790/800. i got it by k750 also (cropped from 2 MP image)..



Other than jpeg compression things, could it be sharpness setting ?
