I just updated even though it said I had Trade South Africa.

I noticed that the time-zone settings have changed. Previously I had problems selecting my home timezone and setting the prefered to the same zone. Now, however, that was no problem at all.

I updated with SEUS a few hours ago and everything is the same like yours except the CDA; mine is 162024/92 R4A . Before the update it was CDA 162024/92 R3A

You got the same CDA as mine. But I thought, well, South Africa is probably a code- word for rank internal opposites of rich and poor, and black and white, wildlife and imperial domestication; brutality and beauty in all variants crammed together - in other words, captivating and repulsive, in different ways, but never boring.

So, I reasoned, it had to be the right one.

Now that I'm back from holidays I thought I'd check if there is an update for my phone version (CDA is /55 which is Ireland). But I can't seem to get past the "Identification in progress" screen which is immediately after releasing the "C" button. From memory when updating my M600 and P990, the next step shouldn't take long and should just say what phone you have i.e. P1i. But so far, I have always had an error message saying identification failed and to try again. Once I got the green bars going across the page but it seemed to hang so I disconnected the phone to try again then got the error messages again. Now I've got the Identification in progress screen again but again, after 15 minutes it doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. Am I correct in thinking it shouldn't take this long? I need to go home soon so have to decide whether to disconnect my phone again!

Will someone help me out on this one please? I eventually gave up and unplugged the phone (no ill effects, thank goodness). I then tried plugging my P990 in and exactly the same thing happened at which point I gave up and went home! Maybe things will change when I get into the office tomorrow and try again but if they don't, what do you experts suggest I do? It's frustrating to not even get to the point where SEUS tells me I can't update my phone!!

in the same way that BBC was preinstalled when I got the phone, this new version is also preinstalled following the upgrade

I don't use BBC myself but perhaps there is a good reason for some to keep the strange CDA variants such as mine (/87 trade singapore latin)!

After I restored my settings from the backup I can no longer set the time-zones correctly.
