Oh sorry I deleted a couple of shots & replaced them with others Thanks well I love my photography & all you gotta remember is look at the light around you & make sure the sun is behind you & keep still as you can to get as clear shot. Simple Where do you live anyway?? I liked your night shots I gotta get more practice with them.

I'm in mid-west Germany.. You in Ireland I guess?
Yet, you are enjoying more sunny clear days than etaab, myself, and lately Davidsic combined!

Had you lived on the equator, I would understand.
But my neighbor gettin all the sun at his yard and me gettin all the rain is not fair!

Naah, just keep those excellent photos coming..
And sometimes, one can't put the sun at the back. But there are some workarounds for this, either avoid those flares if possible or make use of them. Not very good use, but better than nothing I mean..

@ etaab

Yes sometimes it just doesn't go the way you thought it would. And shooting at those tricky scenes which demand a wide dynamic range isn't easy for any camera.
But I'm afraid that it's not you to blame, but the N8. It should have handled those conditions better. And to be honest, there is not much one could do to improve those photos. Lowering the EV would lead to underexposing the rest of the scene (water, ducks, etc..), and manipulating the ISO shouldn't lead to anything..
Unless one higher the ISO but lower the EV so that the SS would be lowered maybe. That could lead to something..

Or just shoot at low exposure, and higher it by post-processing while keeping the high-lights untouched.

When I have the chance, I'd try it out for sure.. As maybe you'd all be thinking by now it would probably be better if I post some photos instead of doing all this talking. But time and weather are always the issue. Barely using the N8 for personal photos lately!
