can i just clarify something.
buying a bigger duo will NOT allow for longer clips, if it can even make video clips. the p800, like every other ARM processed units, do not have enough power to store directly to external memory. clips will be saved to RAM then have to be manually moved to duo. an example would be the sony clie's. most of which have up to four times the processing power of the p800 but still need to store to RAM.
i know what i say cannot be confirmed yet but im willing to put money on it.
this is just like the clievideo.com saga.

It's not a question of processing power, it's a problem of the slow write cycles to Flash memory devices. Flash memory takes a long time to program the memory cells. Reading is much quicker. As a result, while you can read MPEG4 video streams from MS, you can't write it real-time.

realtime writing is possible. and only on systems with sufficient processing power. which can be seen on the new range of sony camcorders which have memory stick ports due to their powerful mpeg2 encoders.
so.....................
yes it is due to processing power, as information cannot be created fast enough and written at the same time.

If you are talking about writing speed with the SONY MSD, which everyone is paying out one! But they rock cause they are fast! Sony camara just like what Lord Viper said is true. On my sisters camara and it is a NON PRO STICK! she can record as long video as the MS cand take! It has nothing to do with no enough speed for writing to MSD!
Remeber these DUO sticks are almost twice as fast as any other media on the market!!!!
So stop paying them out!! <-- this is related in other forms!

Perhaps Sony weren't the complete pains-in-the-arse I thought they were for inflicting yet another standard on the world!
