Well, that P900 actually works as a phone
And the OS doesn't crash nearly as often, and it syncs with Macs. That's enough for me.

@mikaljan
Thanks very much, but I
Fu@king hate Expansys.
To buy XDA2 (i-mate) on Expansys USA site.
http://www.expansys.us/product.asp?code=108654&asource=
$782.44 = £462.93
That is over £100 more expensive that the Expansys UK site.
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=108654
£572.81
These guys do this all the time. Now I appreciate that the USA is a much bigger market, thus pushing down the price of most things. But over £100.
RIP OFF BRITAIN......

Is there tax like VAT payable in US? I think there maybe small state taxes aren't there but nothing like the 17.5% VAT in UK.
Looking at the US and UK sites the US site doesn't show a tax exclusive price which the UK site does and if you compare the US price with the UK tax exclusive price they are fairly close.
I'm not sure what all that really means but it could be a possible explanation for the difference?

I view the P900 v XDA2 as a little like the issues raised with PC's... For years, Microsoft have been pushing processor speeds up to levels we don't need...To run XP they suggest you need something like an 800mhz with 128mb RAM...etc...etc...etc... yet Linux, argued by some as being much more useable, can get by on much less... and so the comparison with the P900 being like a Linux machine has more than one facet.
Take the Psion Series 5 (a design we should see much more of, and an ancestor of Symbian too!), running at the grand ol' speed of a couple of Mhz, yet it could do all that it wanted - word(esque type thing), and spreadsheets, and even games (which a couple of years prior would have graced a much larger system) etc, then came faster processors (in Palms and Windows Mobile) which could supposedly do more...what a load of nonsense... one only needs to look at the console market to see that software is the key and the ability to write good programs (or games in this case) is what makes a system take off (X-Box anyone?)... which is why Windows (IMO) is so widespread today... do I really need a 400Mhz processor in a portable device... and the answer to that question lies in the design of the P900... clearly not...for something running at around a 3rd of the pace of the XDA (with less memory and supposedly lesser graphics capability), the P900 should be credited for even being able to compete, let alone outdo the XDA in some areas... developers should be encouraged to reduce requirements so everyone can have the latest software, and stop following this trend of faster is better...since it isn't always the case, sure the XDA looks impressive on paper... but where exactly does it fall...is it a phone (a little unweildy for this purpose i think), a PDA (ok for that of course), a door-stop(expensive one i admit)... the fact is what do we all take out with us... a phone, thus in order for a PDA to be useful, and for us not to forget to take it with us, it must be pocketable, there is no escaping that - looks like the P900 fills this blank quite well

@mikaljan
Great choice, I am selling my P900 to get XDA2.
I had both and after living with p900 for a while, I have realized that I need more PDA features than telephone features.
As I said very early on in this thread, if you put aside your SE emotions and deal with the facts, the XDA2 is a far superior device.
This has led me to the decision I stated above, at least for me.
I NEED more of a PDA than simply a phone.
I NEED a device that can store more than the feeble 128MB.
I WANT a device that can take pictures, not one that says it can and doesn't deliver.
I WANT a device that has camcorder capability and delivers, not one that doesn't.
I WANT a device that has over 4 times as much software than the P900.
Throughout this thread I have gone from the XDA2 to P900 back to XDA2 then back to the P900, but for me personally I have to go with the XDA2.
It has too much going for it, and for around the same price as the P900 it is twice the phone, and I am not only talking in size, also in features, but most importantly;
IT DOES WHAT IT SAY'S ON THE TIN.
I love you P900, but my head say's XDA2..............
XDA2……Daddy is coming baby…………..
