w960i has b standard wifi not n or g.
b is 11mbs
g is 54mbps
n is 248mbps
most routers support g and b and new ones in the past yr or so support n
does anyone know if its possible to access files/computers on a network using wifi on the w960i so you can access files remotly or something?

Which msn client is everybody using? I read about fring but i am not that fond of it. On my old p800 i had apps that looked quite a lot like msn. Are there more options than just fring?
Why don't you give LCG Slick? It's still in its alpha stage. As of now, it's free. But that might change in the future. I used to use Agile Messenger but now I prefer Slick more.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
Thanks! I'll try. Tried IM+ also like said here. Too bad agile isnt free.

Can you have different profiles on this phone because I cannot find the option and the manual doesn't mention anything about profiles? I find it useful when I'm in work to have the Office and Meeting profiles.

no,there are no profiles on the W9601 or P1i,just the option to switch to silent mode by pressing & holding # key

Really dissapointed with some of this missing options, and cant believe there are no profile options. I often used the personal/office profiles on my 880 - wish they had that on this phone.
Keep getting an error 403 when using the internet - also phone rebooting to 'optimise performance'
Hopefully there will be an update for the phone soon to make it more stable...

I got my W960 just a few days ago and i'm really happy about it, really like it. Got one problem though, I cant get the online-media player to work, only tired it through wifi but it shouldn't be any diffrence via 3g right?

goto
http://groups.google.com/group/cdc-apps/files and download mobilewindowsexplorer.sis, this app runs on my W960 and am able to download files off my LAN

. All you need to know is the IP address of the PC or network drive you want to download from. When you first run the app edit the smb:// address, i have a local network drive at 192.168.0.5 labelled PUBLIC so had to change the smb directory to
smb://192.168.0.5/PUBLIC/, i can now upload or download from that network drive! very cool app
