I'm not expecting too much of a jump with the Z4 but the Z5, IF there is a Z5, I'm expecting something a bit different in both tech and design. Samsung are taking a bit of risk with the Edge design wise, by coming up with something bold and new.
I'm wondering if Sony will respond with the Z5.

Aren't window covers supported by Z3 already? Z3 has stereo speakers too.

Esato was founded in the year 2001 and was mainly targeted at Sony Ericsson mobile phone users. We started with a couple of services offering free ringtones, grayscale logos for the Ericsson T39 and R520 models. We have expanded the service to include free color backgrounds for over 50 mobile phone models. Other popular services are the discussion forum for anyone interested in topics about mobile phones and accessories. Even if the focus was targeted at Sony Ericsson owners, we now have separate forums for owners of other brands. The most popular sections are the News, Blog, discussion forum, Free themes, free color backgrounds and a service where users can upload images from a PC and download a converted image down to their mobile phone.

If I want to put Z5 spec. to what we all need/want then
In Addition to the current features in Z3 ( I mean Bravia, Triluminus, Noise cancelation, etc... )
Of course, Snapdragon 820 on Samsung/GloFo 14nm, and 4GB of RAM
1. New design language.
2. 5.2" WQHD IPS screen
3. 32GB/64GB/128GB options for internal memory with microSD support for Class 10 + U2 speed.
4. Stereo Speakers.
5. 21MP curved back camera with OIS, dual tone LED.
6. 5/8MP front camera.
7. S-Master HX Mobile.
8. Wireless charging.
9. Flapless Type-C USB port with at least USB 3.0 support. at the bottom.
10. Support for window covers.
11. Bottom positioned Audio port.
Since I'm on the market for a new compact, it's pretty much the same I'd like to see in the new Z5C. With some exceptions/additions:
- no new design language, just refreshed OmniBalance + small bezels
- 4,7-4,8" FHD display (OLED with some clever Sony's technology would be a nice touch) with a proper calibration
- improved stereo speakers because the ones in Z3C aren't very good (sound is muffled)
- new camera but most of all - new image processing software
- 3,5mm Jack on the top, USB (Type-C) at the bottom
All of those are doable, question is - will Sony do it? I hope so but better display calibration, image processing or better SoC were also possible for the Z3 and they never did it.

ATTENTION! KING JAMES HAS TURNED INTO JESTER JAMES..
anyway.. it is a rumors thread. let's keep the dream features to a minimum

it might be a dry time for rumors but that's the way it always is.. hopefully sony realizes they need to come out with a beast phone with the best of every feature out there with a few unique features that are USEFUL and work well. the kind that will make people think, "i never knew how much i needed this until sony provided it"

This day I've got fed up with Sony. So I'll make the effort and try to explain you why Sony can't sell their phones.
I add in advance, that I'm not a Samsung fanboy. I ever used only Ericsson, Sony Ericsson and now Sony phones.
I changed my Xperia V to a Z3 compact in January. Great phones both. BUT in the overall user experience I've noticed nealy no change (I used Xperia V with the latest 4.3 android). The Z1 was announced in 2013 august, then appeared Z1c, Z2, Z3, Z3c, facelift models all of them, with no improvement, so all customers can feel, that Sony has stuck in R&D somewhere in mid 2013.
After 1 day of being a happy owner of my Z3 compact, I've noticed that it's impossible to close perfectly the flap of sim card, what's more, after you force to close it somehow, after few hours it opens completely. I brought it back to the Vodafone shop when I bought it, where they replaced the phone without any problem.
While using the pohone I realised that it's digital image stabilisation (just like Xperia V's) isn't really performant...
Just a comparison with my old Xperia ray (2011's SonyEricsson model)
I've tried years ago the capabilities of Xperia ray's digital image stabilization, by taking a photo wile bouncing on a medicine ball.
Here are the results:
With image stabilisation
Without image stabilisation:
As you can see, Xperia ray done a good job with it's digital image stabilisation engine. It seems that it takes the image by sequences, what you can see on the hair drier's cord on the stabilised image. But the overall image in really good compared with the one without stabilisation.
Now here is a comparison in the same room, at nearly the same time, between the Z3 compact and Xperia ray. Why am I making this comparison? Because while using the ray I've got blurry images in moving cars at night, but in nearly ANY lighting conditions I took great shots without motion blur. With my Z3 compact literally I struggle to take shots without motion blur indoors. If I don't hold the phone with two stable hands, no chance, I can't even take a selfie with the rear camera, holding the phone in one hand, beacuse the whole picture is motion blur. I've tried any setting ISO at 3200 (the only setting which helps in little bit better lit rooms), image stabiliser on, Anti Motion Blur, Handheld twilight, etc, but the pictures I get are full with motion blur, because of the slight handshake.
On the following comparison shots
shots:
I used manual mode +no SCN, + image stabilisation with Z3c, holding the phone in one hand
I used normal +no SCN +image stabilization with Xperia ray (on 2.3 Android), holding the phone in one hand.
If the results are not perfect but Xperia ray managed to take better picture overall than Z3c. It's true that Xperia ray doesn't succeed to take always great shots in this environment, but it performs much better, and has a more reliable camera performance, while it's almost impossible to take better shot than the posted one with Z3c, when you hold the phone in one hand...
You can see, especially on the VCR's clock that Xperia ray done a far better job than Z3c
Z3c (exposure time 1/16 s, ISO 3200)
ray (exposure time 1/16 s, ISO 4000)
Why am I reflecting on this?
We can wait impatienty the Z4, but, if you got the Z3/Z3c, which supposed to be the best offer from Sony even in this moment
I want improved digital image stabilisation, and manual shutter speed setting in next Lollipop updates, to offer reliable camera performance in any conditions. It's a shame that 2011's Xperias have better image stabilisation algorithm, and more reliable camera performance than latest models. Sony's latest model doesn't have OIS, phase detection AF, no problem, but nor Sony, neither it's fans not to pretend that Sony's actual flagships has great camera. They have only great potencial, can take great shots in pitch dark also, which is amazing, but indoors, with dim lighting have one of the most unreliable camera performance of the phones what I owned in the last ten 10 since the SonyEricsson K750.
Another step back. Text input.
While Xperia ray offered endless word predictions, and you could switch between language dictionaries, in the case of Z3 compact, you have only 3 chances to chose from, and you cannot switch between languages, which makes more difficult typing, and far more inaccurate if you use 3 languages simultaneously and swiping.
Z3 compact
Xperia ray with 2.3 android
And what made me so angry?
My Z3 compact's front glass today just suddenly separated from the phones body, wihout being dropped or any reason.
Tomorrow I try to be replace the phone at the shop because it's in warranty and I have insurance also. But this would be the second time.
I really like Xperia phones. I haven't had ever other phone than Ericsson, Sony Ericsson or Sony. But if tomorrow my phone won't be replaced, the new device will suffer further hardware issues, and the Z3c's camera performance won't be improved by software updates I can affirm that this IS my very last Sony phone.
And I'm still hoping a stable build quality from the replaced Z3c, I'm still waiting camera improvements (especially in terms of digital image stabilization and shutter speed), I'm still giving a very last chance to Sony. But unless me, or other Sony fans the average customer gives only one chance for the manufacturer. That's why Sony can't sell succesffully phones, because almost everybody has a story, or what's more, a personal experience with troubles using Sony phones.
Sony phones nowadays have promises, lots of brandings, amazing specifications ON PAPER. But in real life you will just wait improvements from software updates, you wait the anouncement of new models which will have the feature in practice what you excpected in theory from your current Sony phone. No innovation, no noticeable improvement since the Z1, since 2013 august. Slight refinenemt in software, hardware, and desing. Pretending what Sony offers is already perfect. But, it isn't. They are getting more and more behind the competition, what's more, and sad, they are getting behind themselves as well, in terms of design, innovation, user experience and real life performance.
