According to SonyAlphaRumors, Sony will make the fitted cases for the most popular phones so you don't have to deal with the clip.

Yup that's right.... Sony phones doesn't look the awesome look of it in press shots....
BTW: Phonearena is counting down Xperia Z1 announcement for the first time on Phonearena counting down Xperia phone
Sony is really coming back xD

Most likely. It would be very unlike Sony to release a sort of NEX-phone.

There are some people on here that just like posting and feeling important and may I add just because someone has 400+ posts doesn't mean they are reliable
The Z1 will be a step up from the Z - go figure, I had my Z stolen I bought and sold a ZU and now will probably buy a Z1 although I don't like buying stuff on a first run from the factory they are usually not as refined as a few weeks of production - I've been a production engineer so I know what I'm on about - better to wait a month or two while they iron out the process

External lenses looking great! I hope those mounting cases don't interfere with the magnetic charging dock connector at all.
I wonder if the entire mounting case is metal. It actually looks pretty damned nice, and likely provides some added protection for the phone. Almost nice enough to make me want to get it even if I don't get an external lens.
... ah damnit, maybe I will get an external lens, lol.
