What difference does it make if it's 1 page, 15 pages or 115? If you use a bit of intelligence you can work out that the first few pages are probably old info and the latest stuff is near the end

The problem is the "STUFF". This is and should be FW related. Unless you want to just put 100 pages STUFF into it!

I say blame it on SE .

if they would at least give us info about a new firmware , or even release a new firmware I am sure there would be a lot less "stuff" in this thread .

Anyone else have trouble with conference calls?

If I make a call then add a 2nd call and then switch back to the first call, the first call comes on through the speakerphone, then in my options I have to select "speakerphone on" which then kills the mic and speaker yet the call is still connected.

If I add a 2nd call then select "start conference" it just comes back with "command error"

I am slowly beginning to hate this phone and have almost destroyed it many many times. It seems we have to think "oh well, I won't use that feature"

How do you get the generic world update. I am using the sonyericsson update service and it doesn't have the option for generic world. I have updated with US english and UK english. Also, the update restores the phone to factory settings and erases all the information on the phone. I will have to backup the information next time. Also, how do you find out about the firmware version without actually flashing. When I update, I get:

R7A001
R4F01
R2A05

Is this the latest?

Thanks

Hi There.

@pmartini

The Latest Firmware for the P990i is:

Phone: R7A001
Bluetooth: R4F01
Organiser: R3B01

You Should ALWAYS Back Up Important information before a Firmware Upgrade. It Does warn you Twice before it begins the Upgrade.

There is No Way to select the Generic Sony Ericsson Firmware. The Firmware is determined by the Phone IMEI And CDA. When you Connect the Phone to SEUS it Automatically finds the Right Firmware for you Phone and then tells you if the Firmware on the Handset is Up To Date. If there is a New Version of Firmware, it says to Update Device. If there isnt, it still allows you to Reflash your Handset with the same Firmware you already have on it.

To find out what Firmware you have without Flashing it, just follow these steps.

FLIP CLOSED:

Select MORE and then STATUS.

FLIP OPEN:

Open MAIN MENU, Click Arrow on Top Bar and Select SYSTEM INFORMATION.

Hope this information is Helpful to you.
