xperiablog has posted a one+ vs z2 still camera comparison

z2 looks more accurate and better to me except for the fruits photo.
i say better because i see more in z2's photos and there's more room for processing. i ran them through a photo editor to see the extent of the details available by adjusting brightness, contrast, and gamma.

just look at the 1st photo with the bricks- the colour in the z2 photo is way off, same with the on with the police car - the colour of the floor seems off as well in the Z2 photo. To me the only one where Z2 wins if the one with SpongeBob

i take back my comment on "accuracy"
can't be sure of that since i haven't seen the actual scenes.
i'm just saying the one+ photos look more saturated than what could be the real image. also, the processing smoothens the details. i like them, though☻.
you can achieve the same looks by editing the z2 photos.
on the police car photo, i have to say the z2 produced a way better image.

i agree with your comment about the indoor photos - there is indeed more detail in the Z2 photos however in the police car photo i still think that the colour of the floor seems more accurate in the One + photo

OPO's HDR shot was really good compared to Z2's, which doesn't even look like a HDR shot.

the spongeBob image of Z2 looks miles better.. the details are awesome.. but in other images the details and the sharpness is worst.. i am really disappointed why Z2 under delivers.. Sony has to improve their algorithm.. always its getting criticism on camera quality..

Okay I just watched those pics on a PC.
WTF GUYS???????????????
Z2 is MILES ahead. It's colours show a real range, when OnePlusOne
actually distorts them.
But what is equaly or more important, Z2 shows more detail
and most of all - it has a real depth!!!
Look at the second photo....
The pic where One is better is the banana one.
And for the HDR:
okay, here the Z2's version of HDR is much less visible
but again, OnePlus looks EXATLy like after adding a heavy effect.
So it's better as an INSTANT effect but for me not really, since Z2 again shows the detail and the depth,
where OnePlus is just plain flat!
The Police again, c'mon! OnePlus is like a joke...
And the last - Z2 has more detail again.
So my opinion is: true, there is no perfect mobile phone camera out there.
But HUGE part of complaints here comes - IMO - from misunderstanding of what photography is...
Or what is the purpose of the camera, at least in the mind of makes...
OnePlus is designed for super instant effect, like after adding processing.
Z2 tries to balance that, still boosting the result but leaving much more reality and detail.
Much more.
And has depth, it's one of the few devices which really show that. You don't even need background defocus for that.
I tell you guys, I compared my best Z2 shots with a CAMERA, Fuiji X10 (not the real Pro but well, a camera with optics)
and my pics SEEMED so much better! Fujifim looked so washed out...
But they were actually more real...

Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion but the photos posted in that comparison are in no way supporting your opinion that Z2 is miles better. The thing that Z2 does better is extracting more detail in the indoor photos but there's no way it produces more realistic colours

^ i've seen many comparisons to all the other flags. to my eyes z2 does produce generally more realistic colors then all the other flags. i don't own z2, i just look at comparisons.

I don't doubt what you are saying - my post was referring to the z2 vs one plus comparison .

Well. We've been not there so it's hard to say for 100% what is real there and what is not.
But generally I have a feeling OnePlus is super saturated.
Unreal for me.
