Or probably Windows Media Sharing cocking up, especially if it's Vista.
I'd disable that if you haven't already and use simple file sharing instead.

Well I've never used Window Media Connect but I've activated it and nothing happened.
I can stream pictures and music from my C905 to my picture frame via the router and my laptop connects to the router no problem.
I can access the media files on my C905 from my laptop normally by typing \\c905. So I guess its an issue thats not with folder sharing. It must be the Vaio Media Server software.
Actually, when I do run Windows Media Connect I can't activate the Folder Sharing option.

Ok. How would I go about installling windows 7 RC 64bit without using a dvd? I acheived that in the beta, which i think was 32bit, by opening the iso in winrar and double clicking on setup.exe, but now doing that same on the RC brings up "this is not a valid win32 application".
I have also tryed using ultra iso to burn it to a flash drive, but my motherboard doesn't seem to want to boot from that (it worked when i used a program the can put linux on a flash drive)
And my curent windows xp install is 32bit but i have had 64bit ubuntu running so i know this system supports 64bit

you need to boot from the cd, not run it from inside windows.
i tried the same with win server 2003 x64, vista x64 & xp x64 and xp 32 never liked any of them and threw up the same error

Hi!
Got perhaps an easy question !
Why doesn't my Windows XP firewall initialise by itself sometimes?
Get up, switch PC on, and go to the bathroom. When I come back, I get the Security Shield icon and need to activate the firewall manually.
Then Outlook etc will work.
Any advice welcomed!

Or have you got / did you once have another firewall app or security suite installed that could be turning off windows firewall at startup? A lot of 'em do...

Hi Cycovision!
I don't think I have.
I am using McAfee VirusSvcan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise 8.5.0i these days.
Interestingly some mornings the PC boots up perfectly then on another day, I get the security message about the Firewall.
It's not a great issue, just a nuisance....
